20 Christmas Movies You Can Enjoy With Your Kids

With Christmas approaching and all the preparations that need to be made, it’s only natural that sometimes you don’t know when to spend quality time with your family. Now everything is settled: sit down with your loved ones and enjoy some of these Christmas movies that will leave a great message and the feeling of having had some great times with them.

1. The Grinch (2018)

This new version of the Grinch is the story of a leprechaun who, by A or B, is convinced that Christmas is the most horrible tradition of the year. A very lonely childhood and an adult phase along the same road convinced this character that he should steal Christmas from his neighbors. But will he be able to continue with his plan at the most magical time of the year? The message left is very important: Christmas is not just about gifts, but sharing this holiday with the people we love.

2. The Christmas Spell (2018)

Kat Graham surprises us this holiday season with a movie with all the essential ingredients of a Christmas movie: love, friendship and magic. The story tells of a photographer with a job she doesn’t like at all, and who gets a Christmas calendar from her grandfather. Abby (Kat Graham) doesn’t know it yet, but this calendar can predict what’s going to happen each day and, in the course of a month, get everything she’s ever wanted. Ideal for reminding your kids about the importance of friendship.

3. A Leprechaun in New York (2003)

In this film, Will Ferrell plays the character Buddy, a human who was adopted as an elf by Santa Claus when he, as a baby, enters his gift bag. Years after being adopted and living as an elf, he discovers where he comes from and begins an adventure trying to find his biological father. The message he leaves is that Christmas means having faith and accepting people as they are.

4. The Prince and I (2012)

This movie is pretty much the modern version of a fairy tale. The protagonist, Jules, is a simple woman who takes care of her two nephews after their parents’ accident left them in her charge. Her dream is to travel, but she can never go anywhere. Surprisingly, Jules and the children receive an invitation to go to a palace to spend the holidays with their grandfather. Once there, Jules’ grand romantic adventure begins. The film is perfect for anyone who wants to remember the importance of family, forgiveness and the Christmas spirit.

This Christmas short takes place between the first and second Madagascar🇧🇷 The four animals had a plan to return to Manhattan when Santa’s sleigh crashes in Madagascar, leaving the good old man with amnesia. All of Christmas is at risk, and the only ones who can save it are these four animals.

7. Olaf — In A Freezing New Frozen Adventure (2018)

This Christmas special Frozen tells how Olaf, a magical snowman, tries to cheer up Elsa and Anna when they realize there are no Christmas traditions. Olaf, with Sven’s help, goes door to door, asking all the villagers what their Christmas traditions are. This film serves to remember each one’s family traditions and highlights the fact that, at the end of the day, what matters most is that everyone is together.

8. It Happened at Mickey’s Christmas (1999)

It happened on Christmas Mickey is a film that tells three stories related to this time of year. The first one features Huguinho, Zezinho and Luisinho, whose biggest wish is that they always repeat their Christmas wishes. The second shows how Goofy wants his son Max to believe in Santa again, and the last shows Mickey and Minnie’s efforts to give each other the perfect gift. The most important of the three stories is that the characters have faith and that the most important gift is being together.

9. Beauty and the Beast — The Enchanted Christmas (2011)

The sequel to this famous Disney movie tells us how Belle, with a great Christmas spirit, wants to decorate the castle to celebrate the date, but the Beast is in total disagreement. Can Belle make him change his mind? Perhaps if you make the Beast understand that Christmas is all about giving, he can change his seemingly firm resolve.

10. The Strange World of Jack (1993)

This movie is perfect for those who still miss the days of Halloween but want to welcome Christmas. The protagonist of the story is Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king, and his mission will be to recreate Christmas in his own way and, therefore, kidnap Santa Claus. Christmas will be different in this movie, because instead of getting cute and appropriate toys, Jack will give him a little Halloween toy twist. At the end of the day, what this movie leaves you with is gratitude for what you have.

11. The Polar Express (2004)

All aboard the polar express. This movie tells the story of a boy who is starting to not believe in Santa Claus, so on Christmas night he stays up to see if he’s really real. Santa Claus never arrives, but what comes in his place is an excellent train on which our hero boards and takes him to a great world of adventures towards the North Pole. What this movie definitely leaves you with is the importance of faith, friendship, courage and kindness.

12. Home Alone (1990)

They forgot me It’s a Christmas classic. Just turn on the TV on the days before the festivities and there will certainly be no channel that does not show it. For those who don’t know, the movie is the story of a boy named Kevin, whose parents accidentally leave him at home when the rest of his family goes on vacation. What at first was a nightmare will end up being a relief for the boy when he realizes that he has the house all to himself. But as the story progresses, the main danger looms when two thieves will want to break into your house and the only one who can defend it is Kevin. What this film conveys is the importance of a sense of perseverance and courage.

13. Edward Scissorhands (1990)

If you want your kids to see a really good movie, the Tim Burton and Johnny Depp duo is perfect for your family. Edward Scissor Hands is the story of Edward, the creation of a scientist who put scissors in place of hands. Edward lives confined to his master’s castle, incomplete, since he died before he could finish it. At the beginning of the film, Peg Boggs, an Avon representative, finds him and invites him to her house. Edward meets the entire Boggs family and slowly falls in love with their daughter, Kim. Edward will want to grow as a person, but some neighbors will start looking down on him and his life will become more difficult. What this movie celebrates is the beauty of the original and it’s perfect for your kids to learn to appreciate what’s different.

Recommended for teenagers 13 years on.

14. Simply Love (2003)

This movie is for older kids. It intertwines the lives of several characters in the days before Christmas. The vast majority of stories are about how characters stay with the person they love the most, despite the circumstances. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a movie romance.

16. Love Doesn’t Take a Vacation (2006)

Love doesn’t take a vacation takes two protagonists whose love lives are a disaster: one is perpetually in love with a committed man and the other has just found out that her boyfriend has cheated on her. Wanting to get away from it all, they both switch houses for a website and head to Los Angeles and England, respectively. Can they put their disappointments behind them or will they come back to the same spot?

17. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)

Although it’s not exactly a Christmas movie, the date is celebrated in it, so we decided to include it in the list. Harry Potter is an orphan who grew up all his life with his cruel uncles, Vernon and Petunia, and his cousin Dudley. What he doesn’t know is that when he turns 11, he will be sent to a wizarding school called Hogwarts, where he will learn all about the wizarding world and face many challenges. The important thing in this film is friendship and courage.

18. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)

We are back to the duo Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. This time we find ourselves in the most impressive chocolate factory in history. Willy Wonka, its owner, opens a contest for 5 children and their adult guardians to come and visit. One of these children is Charlie, a humble boy who lives with his grandparents and parents. The other kids who come to the factory are very different from him: greedy, spoiled and gluttonous. But Charlie is a good boy and, together with his grandfather, he will start the most impressive adventure of his life. The most important thing in this movie is the love of the family above all.

19. New Year’s Eve (2011)

With the same dynamics as Simply love🇧🇷 New Year’s Night tells several stories intertwined with a cast of well-known actors who, in the days leading up to the new year, fight for what they want. It’s a very good romantic comedy to watch with older kids and teach them about the meaning of love.

20. Shrek’s Christmas Special (2007)

In this half-hour special, Shrek, our favorite ogre, declares that he doesn’t really like Christmas. However, he will be willing to do whatever is necessary for the sake of Fiona and her babies, so he will begin to accept certain date customs. But how long can he keep up the facade?
