A rather silly story, but one that falls under the category of failed lies: I was about 5 years old, and I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom when my mother cursed me out for something. I was a very impressionable child, so I threw myself on the bed crying. My parents came running over worried, and my mother asked me if I was crying because she had yelled at me. So I said: “No, I’m sad because… I don’t know how to swim”. Shortly after, my swimming lessons began. I hate swimming. @delicious_eggroll

When I was 13, I was playing World of Warcraft, and someone asked me how old I was. Thirteen seemed too low, so I replied that I was fourteen, which meant I was more mature. I kept playing with these people and after 4 years they thought I was 18. Then they started asking if I had gotten into college and if everything was ok.

So as not to make matters worse and need to tell the truth, I continued to pretend to be an 18-year-old and started asking for advice. The good thing is that, thanks to these advices, I ended up getting into university earlier.

In order to support my lie and start studying at this university as soon as possible, I needed to finish school quickly. I was lucky to get the chance to advance my studies. So I graduated a year early and entered university.

And here I am, at university, a thousand miles from home. I’ve already finished a degree and I’m on a master’s, all because when I was 13, I thought it was better to lie that I was 14 during a game. @tossoff72936492749
