Everyone certainly wants to maintain a cordial and healthy relationship with their neighbors. However, this is not always possible and, sometimes, some people even go beyond all limits of what is acceptable, making living together a real challenge, as happened with the protagonists of our article today.

The neighbor reported my sister to the police because my nephews were playing in the garden. Problem is, she didn’t report it for the usual reasons, like making too much noise or something. The neighbor eats my flowers. In his defense, when he introduced himself as soon as we bought the house, he told us he’s been doing it for years. He’s a great neighbor, just an eccentric older man who prefers his own company, eats my flowers, and isn’t ashamed of it. In the fall, she spends hours outside with a leaf blower. The neighbor chases me. Every time I come home, she comes out and tells me, for example, that I was three minutes late this time, or two minutes earlier than usual, and then she asks me why. We have a neighbor whom we call “the screaming lady”, because when her children were small, she used to stand at the window and run screaming towards anyone who drove by and seemed to go too fast. All this in the name of the safety of their children (who may or may not be home at the time). She continues to handle traffic and stare down motorcyclists to this day. I was returning home and arrived at the entrance of my building. Out of nowhere, a little granny came screaming, “You took my stool!” There are some old ladies who just sit all day long on stools in front of the entrance to my building. I tried to explain that it had nothing to do with it, but she just said, “Okay, hold on now.” Two days later it started: I found three garbage bags in front of my door, and judging by the smell, there was rotten fish inside. Obviously, it wasn’t hard to guess who had left it there. I put on my gloves, picked up the garbage bags and put them where the grannies usually sit. The “war” continued for a year. After that time, the neighbor on the fourth floor decided to renovate and started throwing away his old furniture. And when he got rid of the chairs and benches in his apartment, the lady recognized his old stool that, according to her, I had stolen. She headed towards the resident like a rocket and started yelling at him. In my old apartment in Odessa, Ukraine, I had a neighbor — Aunt Rosa — who made scandals easily, as if that raised spirits. So much so that one of her catchphrases was: “Even if no one asks me, I will still tell you how to cook!” And so we went.
