17 Rare Objects That Not Everyone Knows What They Are Used For

Before the internet burst into our lives, we either used encyclopedias to clear up our doubts or simply asked friends, family or teachers about things. With the arrival of virtual search tools, everything has changed and any question that crosses our minds takes us directly to our computer or cell phone. We usually find almost everything, but some questions are so specific that they end up encouraging the creation of communities that serve to help those who still haven’t found an answer to a question.

This happened with the awesome.clubwhat found 17 very unusual objects and wanted to find out what they were made for. Check out which objects these are and get ready to find out what they are for.

1. “A kind of metal rim that expands and has a decorated lid”

Object to open a vintage bag. The fabric is sewn around the opening, like a bag. LaaSirena / reddit

2. “What are these metal objects on the stairs and what are they for?”

They serve to prevent the accumulation of dust in the corners, facilitating their cleaning. jackrats / reddit

3. “Miniature toilet with a spoon”

4. “The holes left by the nails in these pallets are pink. And the nails too

Due to the friction caused by the nail contacting the wood, the vinyl coating heats up and “melts”, leaving the pink mark. DoctorOfMeat / reddit

5. “What is this chrome object next to the toilet and toilet paper holder?”

It looks like a magazine stand. “Literature” is an important category of bathroom supplies; well, at least I think it used to be that way before smartphones. EspritFort / reddit

6. “It appears to be 12 meters long, has nothing written on it and doesn’t seem to have anything inside. It is almost 8 meters above the ground and there is no sign of life around it.”

7. “What is this shelf on my wall? It could just be a regular shelf, but the bottom made me think it might have a specific purpose.”

11. “Copper plate I found on my parents’ farm, with name and date of birth and death crossed out”

It’s a coffin plate that was probably made in the cutlery factory that was owned by a woman in my town, Katherine Healy! We don’t know why it was scratched, but it’s probably a defect in the board, which was discarded. christopherwaverly / reddit

It’s a mirror to look for suspicious or forgotten bags under the seats. Southpontiac / reddit

14. “An industrial ventilation structure in the middle of the park”

18 million US gallons (81 million liters) underground reservoir. “The underground reservoir is being built by the Mesa Consolidated Water District on the former Lindbergh school grounds. 15. “What is this box for? The openings on the side seem to suggest a specific function. I found it at a thrift store”
