Who loves more: the man who buys a huge bouquet of roses from the nearest flower shop or the man who makes chicken soup for his girlfriend when she’s sick? The stories below moved the editors of the awesome.club, showing that loving someone also means loving the people who are dear to you, supporting them in the most difficult times and showing affection without expecting anything in return. That’s why we want to share them with you. Follow!

Today I was working and my son asked to play video games with me. I said I was busy, and he replied, “Please, Daddy. You can give me the controller unplugged anyway.” By the looks of it, he had figured out my ruse a while ago, but he just wanted to sit next to me on the couch. © 5up3rj / Reddit

When I was still little, our class was scolded: we were forced to write the same sentence at home 500 times, otherwise they wouldn’t let us go to the circus. I spent the night crying, because I had managed to write only 200 lines. When I woke up the next morning, however, I noticed that my mother had not only finished my work, but had also set aside money for me to buy something from the circus. It was one of the happiest moments of my childhood. © Denise Sanchez / Quora

My boyfriend is not romantic: he never gives me flowers, he doesn’t declare himself in public. But when I was crying into his shoulder about a sore throat, he was the one who took me to the doctor and then made chicken soup when we got home.🇧🇷 He left everything he had to do to come and hold me when I lost someone very close to me. And on the anniversary of the day we met, he made this little box himself. He spent a week printing it piece by piece on the 3D printer. All because I had commented that I thought the design was beautiful, but I had never asked him to do it. © Vanessa Ying / Quora

I broke up with my boyfriend and moved in with my parents. Only today did I realize that I no longer needed to put water in the electric kettle in the morning — I just woke up and pressed the button to heat the water. That is, always before leaving for work, my father would put water on so that I would have less trouble making my coffee. I used to hate life, spend most of my time partying and switch girlfriends quickly because I didn’t have any feelings for them. Then I met a girl whose life seemed even more convoluted than mine, and we got married. She got pregnant by accident and it made me furious. Look what a terrible thing: I hated what was growing in my wife. Later, I heard the fetal heartbeat for the first time—which was strange but pleasant. And then my daughter was born. My wife had complications during the birth, so I felt that my child needed me at that moment. I left my wife with the nurses and went to see my newborn, who, by the way, was the most beautiful baby in the world.🇧🇷 I cried for the first time in a long time. The nurses asked if I would like to hold her. I just smiled because I couldn’t speak. I hadn’t felt any emotion for years, but that helpless being managed to steal my heart. © Stefan Benedito / Quora

I have constant mood swings. During one of them, I went into the closet and refused to come out. My husband has a hard time expressing his feelings, so he just brought a pillow, a blanket and said, “So are we going to sleep here tonight?” © MulticulturalLlama / Reddit

I grew up with my grandparents as my parents were always busy with work and my grandfather was everything to me. I had to take care of him for the last five years since he couldn’t get out of bed anymore. I tried to visit him whenever I could. He lived with a lady who took care of him and fed him, but they needed me to help with bathing and changing diapers. My current wife also visited him since we were dating. Once I got to his house, I saw that the fridge was full of food and he was eating ice cream watching TV in bed. My then-girlfriend had gone there a few hours before me without telling me. Six months later, I asked for her hand in marriage. © Sameotoko / Reddit

I always knew that my father would help and protect me. When I was five, the boys from the apartment next door threw my flying saucer into the hives bushes in the building. I complained to my father and he forced the boys to go there and get him. As they left—in tears—Dad said, “Everyone needs to be responsible for their own actions.” To ease the annoyance, he even gave us ice cream. When I was 10 years old, he carried me on his lap from a place where there were many broken pieces of glass on the floor and he got hurt all over. At 13, he backed me up and drove me home after I protected a friend in a fight—full of bruises on my body and ripped pants. 10 years ago, my friend got his driver’s license, bought a car, and — in honor of that — invited us to a barbecue. We were heading towards the park and my friend was behind the wheel. The road was full of holes, deformations, curves. The vehicle rose and fell as if we were in a video game stage. At one point, we saw a young man on the sidewalk with beautiful long hair, a suit and tie, a bouquet of roses and wine in his hands.🇧🇷 He was certainly going on a romantic date. We tried our best, but it didn’t work: we went through a puddle next to him and bathed the boy in dirty water. We stopped the car. My friend nearly cried apologizing and offered to take him home to change, but he declined.
“Well, maybe it wasn’t meant to be…
“And how about coming with us to a barbecue?”
“Oh, it might be.
Along the way, he explained that he was going to ask his girlfriend to marry him, even though they didn’t have a good relationship – he was being pressured by his parents. And it looks like the puddle was the only thing that stopped him. At the celebration, he met my friend’s aunt, they exchanged phone numbers and, after a while, they got married. The funny thing is that the two don’t celebrate the “wedding day”, but the “puddle day”, when they call all their friends for a barbecue. © volchek1024 / Pikabu

“My friend gave this to his wife for their anniversary and added the message: ‘Go outside.’

When I lived in the student dormitory, I got into all kinds of situations. One night I woke up to the screams of the neighbor, who saw a boy hanging from a rope through the window. She got scared thinking that some student couldn’t handle the stress of classes, but in fact, it was just a guy trying to visit his girlfriend. We told him not to risk his life anymore and just walk into our apartment and then go to the neighbor’s room. He replied saying that would be too easy and continued climbing the rope… © Voldemort1926 / Pikabu I’m 22 years old and since I was 18 I’ve been living in another city. I am independent and can come back from the bar at 4 am or go out for a walk at any time of the night. When I go to visit my relatives in my hometown, however, the situation is quite different: if I come back late, my grandfather will certainly be waiting for me on the couch to tell me that I shouldn’t walk alone at night. He normally goes to sleep at 8 or 9 pm, but the days I’m there he doesn’t sleep until I get home. © Подслушано / Vk My parents separated after 25 years of marriage. My father remarried and raised a new family, and my mother was left alone. Once an acquaintance invited her to visit her and introduced her to a young man. They started dating and then were living together. The most curious thing was that, in a conversation, they discovered that the two came from the same small town. They were neighbors as children, and the boy was the same boy who had saved my mother when she almost drowned in the river. © Arrabbiata / Pikabu When my daughter was 10 years old, my husband — who is not her biological father — moved into our house. And about six months later, when I was at work, she had her first period. We had already talked about it, but she was still nervous. My husband helped her: gave her a towel, explained what it was and they went to a pharmacy🇧🇷 He helped her choose pads, then they bought ice cream and chocolates and, just in case, painkillers. When they arrived, he even showed videos on the internet of how she should do it and showed all kinds of necessary information. When I got home from work, my daughter was sleeping peacefully. I think that was one of the moments I felt like I loved him the most. © Danigirl_03 / Reddit
My girlfriend once said that she wanted to see me, but I didn’t feel like talking as I had had an exhausting day at work. She then came to my house and sat next to me on the bed while I played video games until we fell asleep. The whole time she didn’t say a word other than “Hi” and “Okay, I’m going to sleep, I love you.” © DrKurtCockings / Reddit When we were still 10 years married, two small children and insignificant salaries — which did not cover daily expenses and bills — we had a big fight about it and said very nasty things to each other. At that moment, the phone rang: my father had had a heart attack and was admitted to a hospital 2,000 kilometers away from where we were. Doctors didn’t know if he would survive. We stopped arguing right away, and my wife told me to get in the car and go to the airport — she was already buying a ticket. And she promised to talk to my boss about what happened and take care of our family for as long as it took. My father still lived a few years after that, and I understood the following: no matter how hard life gets and how much we fight like two moles, she’s not just on my team, she’s my team🇧🇷 This year, we will celebrate 30 years of marriage. © NitsuAnimot / Reddit

Today I woke up early: I needed to solve a problem at work. So I decided to make a good breakfast and take it to my wife in bed. On the tray, I put a cup of coffee, scrambled eggs and bread. I continued working and heard sobbing in the bedroom. When I entered,…
