I worked at a department store. One time, a woman came to my register with some pants marked a third off their value. But luckily for her, the parts were coming off at half the price on the system. She, however, was not happy about this and insisted on taking the one-third deduction that was marked on the part and not the system. I called the manager and the woman insisted that the one-third discount was greater than the half discount, because the number “3” is greater than the “2”.
