15 Very Attractive Historical Characters We’d Love to Have Known

It’s curious how people don’t show much interest in studying history. Why does this happen? The problem is not in the subject — after all, we are talking about events that changed the course of our lives, and many have even become the subject of documentaries and fiction films. In reality, the lack of interest is often in the way historical characters are illustrated: in general, they are portrayed as mature, bearded people, with serious faces and very distant from us. Unfortunately, he disappeared on the third British Everest expedition and never fulfilled his dream of reaching the top. Friends of his say the following about him: “Irvine didn’t live long, but he lived well. His short life was filled with activity. In just one year he rowed the successful Oxford boat, explored Spitsbergen, fell in love with skiing and perhaps conquered Everest. More than living for a long time, he lived well.”

15. Ernest Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway was not just a pretty face, he also worked as a journalist and was one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. If in the profession he was very objective, as a husband he was the opposite. He did not find happiness with his first wife, much less with his second or third. He lived his final days alongside his fourth wife, with whom he lived for 15 years, until her death in 1961.
