15+ Simple and extremely practical tricks for your day to day

We live surrounded by technological inventions and new ideas that, in general, appear to make our lives easier. Can you imagine living, for example, without a washing machine? Or without Internet access? But how did our grandmothers (or great-grandmothers) live? After all, in their time, none of this still existed…

Well, maybe in the time of our grandmothers there wasn’t much of the technological marvels we have access to today. But, believe me: they already adopted many simple tricks that we still use today. It’s the awesome.club presents some of them in this post. Check it out!

1. Removing glue from metal surfaces is easier than you think

You have two options, and both require just three items:

Option 1:

Credit card Cloth Any lubricating oil

Strip the glue off the metal and remove the residue with a credit card. Apply some of the oil to the cloth and rub until the glue comes off.

Option 2:

A spoonful of coconut oil A cloth A spoonful of baking soda

Mix coconut oil and baking soda. With your finger, apply the mixture to the residue before wiping it off with a damp cloth.

2. If you burnt your frying pan, don’t scrape it leaving scratch marks. use Coke

Put some Coke in the frying pan and let it boil. Then let it rest overnight in the pan and then wash it. It will shine like new, just like this video shows!

3. Broke a plate? Don’t worry! Just use sticky tape and warm water to repair it.

Place the dish in a large pan and pour in enough milk to cover the entire piece. Keep on low heat for one hour. Let it cool before removing and rinse it. Check out this video for more detailed visual instructions.

4. Don’t know how to close a packet of chips without a fastener or clips? Make an origami!

Fold the package opening towards the front of the package several times. Then fold the top two edges forward and turn the entire fold to the back to close it off. 5. Instead of letting the cable loose on the floor, why don’t you use it to decorate your wall?

Avoid the mess by making your own wall art with the long cord of a lamp! All you need is your imagination and this cheap stuff:

Pencil String Scotch tape Instant glue

Measure your cable with a string and stick it to the wall as per your drawing. Trace the rope design with a pencil. Place the masking tape on the wall along the way it was drawn. Put some instant glue on the tape and place the cable over it. Hold the cable in place until the glue dries. You will have a unique design and a super organized handle! 6. No need to call a plumber for a clogged sink if you have baking soda, vinegar and a bottle

Combine baking soda and vinegar in a bottle. When the mixture rises, cover the mouth of the bottle and quickly turn it upside down. Place the mouth of the bottle in the sink drain. 7. Homemade pots for your plant

You will need:

A plastic mold Cement A hot glue A magnet A raw egg Fertilizer A plant

Glue the magnet inside a silicone mold. Then pour the cement into the mold. Press an egg into the cement in the center of the mold. Leave it until the cement hardens. Break the egg. 8. Bring usefulness back to an unused book by creating a “levitating” bookcase

You will need:

2 L-brackets A drill A pencil A ruler Wall plugs 4 screws Stiletto An unused hardcover book Instant glue

Mark the holes for the L brackets on the wall with about 12.7 cm between the two brackets using the pencil and ruler. Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs into them. Insert the screws into the holes after placing the L-brackets firmly against the wall.

On the back of the old book, on the last few pages, make two rectangles 12.7 cm apart and cut using the base of the supports that are on the wall as a measure, so that the supports can fit together so that it does not appear that the book is open.

Glue the cover firmly to the bottom of the book to close it well, serving as a base for all the others that will go on top. Ready! Just stack them!

9. Cut a cake with dental floss and a toothpick

Cutting a cake into two equal sizes can be tricky. But you can do this using unflavored dental floss and toothpicks. Place the toothpicks at the midpoint around the edges of the cake. Align the wire also around, right above the toothpicks. When the string is completely around the cake, cross the ends of the string, allowing the string to slide through the cake. 10. Tea lovers, don’t throw away used tea bags! They can be used against pests

11. Make a homemade speaker with materials you already have at home

You will need:

2 cardboard cups 1 roll of toilet paper

Place a toilet paper roll in the center of the cups. Cut holes in the cups and fit each end of the roll into them. Then, make an opening at the top of the roll according to the size of your cell phone, so that it can be positioned upright. A speaker ready! Cut off 1/3 of the index finger and the ring finger of a glove. Then cut off 2/3 of the middle finger of the glove. Cut the flat part out of a regular plastic container (from cake wrappers) or from a DIY store. Trace the outline of a name or word that you want to turn into a necklace. Don’t forget to put two rings on both ends of the name, as this will be where the chain will go to secure the name. Cut. Leave in the oven at about 180º until the plastic shrinks. Use metallic spray on the name. When dry, fit the rings at each end of the name and mount your chain!

14. How to make a perfect bandage in just two steps

15. Too old to play with your toy soldiers? Turn them into fruit bowls

You will need:

Heat your oven to 150ºC. Place the soldiers in the bottom of the larger container. Place the smaller container on top of the soldiers. Put more soldiers in the space between the large and small containers. Warm in the oven until they melt.
