“We don’t need to be married or be mothers to be complete”, Jennifer Aniston’s story represents that of many women

For most women in their 30s, someone has probably asked more than once when they are going to have children. Sometimes it doesn’t seem to matter if you’ve built a successful career, or if you’re doing something else. However, when it comes to a celebrity of the caliber of Jennifer Aniston, it can become quite tiresome to have to give continuous explanations in this regard.

We, from awesome.club, we want to share with you the story of the actress who gave life to Rachel Green, who after many years of comments about her personal life, openly expressed how important it is to be able to choose how we want to live our lives.

The beginning of your career

Jennifer Aniston was born on February 11, 1969. Both her mother and father were actors, so acting was present in her life from an early age. She attended School of Music, Art and Performing Arts in New York, where she majored in performing arts.

At first, I couldn’t act even in advertising. She worked at an ice cream parlor and as a waitress for over two years. She borrowed money and spent her last savings to take pictures, with which she auditioned for Friends.

The success of Friends and its iconic Rachel Green

Friends premiered in 1994 and was an absolute hit for 10 years. Jennifer’s character has become an audience favorite. Her clothes and hairstyles were trending for a decade and are remembered and imitated to this day.

a comedy star

Jennifer could have suffered from something that happens to many actors who play a memorable character: being stuck with Rachel Green and never becoming recognized for other roles. However, the actress tried hard to prevent this from happening. Since her role in For a Meaning in Life (2002), she hasn’t stopped working.

Friends ended in 2004, and Jennifer’s career shifted to the big screen. That same year, the film I want to stay with Polly was released, and she acted with another great star: Ben Stiller. In 2006, Marriage Separated was a huge box office success and co-starred Vince Vaughn. Thus, Rachel was left behind and Jennifer made it clear that her career was just beginning. In 2012, the actress received a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

The new challenges in dramatic roles

While she’s a great comedian, Jennifer didn’t want to be pigeonholed as one either. In 2005, she was the protagonist of Out of course and, in 2008, came the success with Marley & Eu. She also starred in He’s Just Not That Into You, in 2009, and Pretend Wife (2011). In 2014, Jennifer made her mark with Cake: A Reason to Live, playing a woman with chronic pain.

In 2005, the actress married Justin Theroux and, despite her professional success, magazines were interested in her personal life. In an interview, she said: “No one considers it to be a sensitive topic for me and my partner. They don’t know what I’m going through both in health and emotionally. There’s pressure on women to be mothers, and if they’re not, they’re ruined. Perhaps my purpose on this planet is not to procreate. Maybe I should do other things.”

An open letter in which he said “enough”

In 2016, Jennifer felt she had reached her limit and published an open letter in the HuffPost newspaper. For the first time, she addressed those who had been making up pregnancy rumors for years. However, she didn’t take it personally and wasn’t in the least bit spiteful. Instead, she was concerned about the other women.

Jennifer argued that, when exposed, this was how they portrayed all women, with a distorted standard of beauty. She expressed concern about girls who would grow up believing they could only be beautiful if they were thin.

The actress left a blunt message: “We are complete with or without a partner, with or without children. We ourselves have to decide what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. This decision is ours alone. Let’s take it for ourselves and for the young women who see us as an example to follow. We don’t need to be married or mothers to be complete. We can and must decide what our happy ending is.”

Today’s Realities Jennifer Aniston: A Multifaceted Actress and Businesswoman

In 2021, The Hollywood Reporter interviewed her at her home to talk about the success of the second season of The Morning Show, alongside Reese Witherspoon, as well as the meeting between the cast of Friends and the premiere of the film Mystery in the Mediterranean — 2, with Adam Sandler.

Jennifer admits to not reading magazines anymore and that “I used to take everything personally, all the pregnancy rumors and the belief of ‘oh, she chose her career over having kids.’ No one has any idea why I don’t have kids, or about my personal life or my health.”
