My father is a builder, and as I recall, he was always on business trips. Once he brought me a doll from South Korea, which, by the way, did not exist where we lived. At first, my parents didn’t want to give it to me, because I supposedly could break it. So they decided to wait until the New Year, then they decided to wait until my birthday and then they postponed it. I did everything to get it as a gift, I behaved well and got only good grades at school…
Long story short, my parents only gave me the doll for my 27th birthday. On the day, I managed to contain myself and not cry in front of them, but I felt very sad when I returned home. And frankly speaking, I just wanted to burn it so I wouldn’t have to see it again and relive all that resentment, but my husband convinced me to keep it.
