15+ Brazilian actors who could star in childhood cartoon adaptations

The 2020s have been excellent for cartoon fans, with the advent of live-action series production, that is, with real actors, based on She-Ra and One Piece, for example. But we Brazilians, who are very nostalgic when it comes to TV cartoons, want more. We want adaptations made in our hometown, with the national actors we already love!

Therefore, we here at awesome.club we gathered some cartoons from the 1980s to the 2000s and chose actors who would shine as the protagonists, if an adaptation was made in Brazil. And in the end one bonus wait for you. Check it out!

You can’t talk about nostalgic drawings in Brazil without mentioning Caverna do Dragão, which was very successful here. If an adaptation were to be made, it would be a huge responsibility to be cast in the role of Hank, the leader of the lost youth group. Pedro Novaes not only has a similar physique, but he has already carried the weight of being the protagonist in Malhação: Toda Forma de Amar, from 2019. He would be a great Doug Funnie, but he needs someone to be his platonic love, right? To play Paty Maionese, we would cast Emilly Nayara, who played Milena in the movie Turma da Mônica: Lessons. Tell the truth if this wouldn’t be a beautiful and inspiring couple?

Maybe you don’t know him, but Cauã already has considerable experience, mainly in cinema. He was already the son of the protagonist in the film Bingo: O Rei das Manhãs, played the flirtatious Titi in the two Turma da Mônica films, Laços and Lições, among others. He once went to Simba in the musical The Lion King. In Little Geniuses he is a chemistry specialist who is always ready to help people, which matches Ash’s personality a lot from Pokémon. And he looks good in a hat!

Ok, we know that He-Man has that famous blond hair, but since we’re fantasizing about an adaptation made in Brazil, why not cast a cast with our cultural identity? By the way, the really important thing to be Prince Adam of Eternia is to have a good charisma and a very well defined physique – there would be a lot of shirtless scenes. You can see from the photo that Gabriel Fuentes meets these requirements, right? Then give him a sword so he can shout “By the power of Grayskull”.

Since we’re going to do a He-Man, why not a She-Ra? If only for some guest appearances on his twin brother’s series. Playing the Princess of Power and defending Etheria requires strength, agility and gorgeous hair. Grazi Massafera even looks like she’s already preparing for the role, with her training that includes running, sit-ups and even fighting. She would be a great choice and not let us embarrass her as She-Ra.

Anyone who sees little Dexter doesn’t imagine he’s a science genius with a hidden laboratory. Giovani Donato already played an apparently fragile character, Dudu in Turma da Mônica: Lessons. By the way, before being cast for that role, he tried to get another one, that of the scientist and inventor Franjinha. Well, since he wants to be a scientist, let’s give him that role. Giovani already has the ideal appearance and stature to play Dexter, doesn’t he?

Super Shock is a DC hero, the same house as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, and is very popular with young audiences. Much is said about casting actor Caleb McLaughlin, Lucas from Stranger Things in a possible adaptation. Cool, but how much better would it be to shoot this version in Brazil with Cauê Campos and his contagious smile? We thought he would be perfect!

The feature that most draws attention to the character of Johnny Bravo, after the topknot, is his gigantic chest. Johnny is a character who just thinks he’s the last cookie in the package and plays the conqueror type. We have an actor who took the breath away of many people in Verdade Secretas and with a great physique, Felipe de Carolis. He’s not blonde, but he’s already risked platinum hair and it looks great.

Just imagine a series featuring three seemingly normal high school girls who lead action-packed lives as undercover spies. Now imagine this series with Gabz, Iris Valiatti and Bárbara Maia in the lead roles. Each with their own personality, the girls of As Três Espãs Demais would be very well represented by these actresses with several films, series and soap operas in their curriculum. In addition to the possibility of being great inspirations for the younger audience.

Valentina Bulc is a young and debuting actress who became known for her role as Belinda in Malhação: Pro Dia Nascer Feliz. It was her first role and she already killed it, so she may have what it takes to play Serena (Usagi, in the original), the protagonist of the 1990s anime Sailor Moon, which had an audience and a legion of devoted fans. Valentina could indeed be the first cast for this adaptation, but who do you think the others could be?

Anyone who enjoyed an adventure in the 2000s probably watched the cartoon As Aventuras de Tintin on TV Cultura, which followed Tintin, a young reporter given to adventures involving the investigation of crimes. It’s not clear if he was a teenager or young adult, but Caio Manhente seems to fit the character well, including his quiff. Jokes aside, he has had contact with many investigative adventures in the role of Tom in the series Detectives of the Blue Building.

Chay Suede already showed that he has a talent for comedy when he starred in the film Lascados in 2014, in which he caught the attention of critics for his talent and charisma. In addition, he also has a horror film under his belt, The Cage, from 2022. The Scooby Doo cartoon perfectly mixes humor and horror, and his character Shaggy is one of the most charismatic of the group. So we thought Chay would be great in this role.

For fans of Brazilian dubbing, we know this could be a bad idea. The dubbing of the late actor Orlando Drummond is classic and he was very well replaced by his pupil Guilherme Briggs. But this is just a joke and, as such, we imagine how funny it would be to have surfer and ex-BBB Pedro Scooby voicing Scooby the dog. Think about it. If that doesn’t seem like a good idea, we can agree that he deserved at least a cameo.
