13 Images of a cosplay master

Jonathan Stricker, famous on the Internet under the nickname J Stryker, is a cosplayer (person who likes to embody famous characters) with a lot of experience, as he has been dedicated to this since 2006. At school, as a boy, he felt alone and almost did not communicate with people. In addition, classmates often made fun of him. Cosplay helped Jonathan loosen up and believe in his own strength.

As a teenager, he began to enjoy Marvel comics and video games. Then he became a fan of Japanese animation. This love for anime inspired the boy to make his first transformations. Afterwards, as they say, he couldn’t stop.

The Incrível.club team was impressed with the images created by J Stryker, and compiled the most fabulous ones in this post. A small spoiler: at the end, a curious bonus awaits you.

Kuzco the Emperor

He designs his own costumes, makeup, and retouches the images. He creates several cosplay series choosing one theme at a time: superheroes, images from movies with Johnny Depp, cartoon series from TV channels like Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney heroes.

Doctor Zoidberg

Jonathan does everything independently. Sometimes curious things happen that he ends up broadcasting live over the Internet, acting as the characters he is embodying. He once had to stay inside Zoidberg’s costume for over half an hour, trying to figure out why the camera wouldn’t work. Imagine how the character ran around the room in search of the memory card, at the same time charging the batteries.

Hercules

The Mad Hatter

The idea for the creation of the characters played by Johnny Depp came to J Stryker when he removed Flynn Ryder’s makeup from the cartoon “Tangled”. Upon seeing himself in the mirror, he noticed that he surprisingly resembled the actor, which immediately served as inspiration for his next series of cosplays.

crybaby

With makeup, anyone can become Johnny Depp. But how about this variation? Isn’t it similar? We think Jonathan and Johnny Depp as the daredevil Wade Walker from the movie “Cry-Baby” are identical.

Montgomery Burns

Of course, the resemblance helps a lot to create a truer image of the character, but this is not the most important thing. “You have to understand the person you’re creating,” says Jonathan. It is important not only to dress like him, but to express your mime, your gestures, your thoughts and feelings. In other words, it’s impossible to do this without also being an actor.

Eustace Bagge

The cartoon characters from the Cartoon Network TV channel occupy a special place among all cosplayer transformations. In his interviews, Jonathan acknowledges that he would like to work for this company in the future.

Crazy monkey

Depending on how difficult the characters bring, the preparation can take hours and sometimes a whole day. All elements of Jonathan’s clothing are created by him, with no help from anyone. He focuses so much on this process that there are days when he leaves the house just to work out at the gym.

archer

At first, Jonathan had doubts about choosing to cosplay Sterling Archer, the narcissistic special agent from the famous James Bond parody. He was primarily concerned with the style of the animation, but decided to try imitating the character with the help of pop art-style makeup. He had never done anything like this before, so he had to work really hard to get it done. The result, however, clearly shows that the effort was worth it.

Brain

What is the most difficult thing about playing the character Brain, from the cartoon “Dexter’s Laboratory”? The shorts, the shirt, the glasses and the tie are all fantasy. But the fringe had to be arranged in such a way that the hair forms the letter “M”. And to make his head bigger, like the character’s, Jonathan had to put some underpants under the wig.

roger

Roger’s costume, the alien from “American Dad!”, was one of the most difficult to make, according to the cosplayer. The boy used foam to make the belly and large amounts of melted gray plastic to create the ET’s skin.

Beetlejuice

Jonathan never ceases to surprise his followers with unexpected cosplay ideas. Many of them are related to certain dates. For example, last October he prepared several looks to celebrate Halloween.

Nigel Thornberry

J Stryker considers himself a very creative person. His unusual hobby not only became a serious matter for him, but also a meaning for life. In the summer of 2016 he suffered a heart attack, which made him think about his place in the world and build a “new personal image”. “Hard work and a positive attitude can propel you beyond what you might think,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Bonus: how does he create these cosplays?

J Stryker considers himself his main opponent, as he tries to make each cosplay better and more elaborate than the last.
