12 Pairs of British Royal Family Members With Great Similarities

Most members of a family usually have similar traits that set them apart from the rest. Just by looking at them we can deduce if they are related or not. An example of this are the multiple similarities between members of royalty, who exhibit characteristics inherited from many of their ancestors.

O awesome.club made a compilation comparing some images of British royals, which reveal how their genes were passed down from generation to generation.

1. Prince William and his mother Princess Diana

The first notable example is the striking resemblance between Prince William and Princess Diana. Evidence not only in the smiles, but also in the noses, eyes and way of looking. William is pretty much the male version of his mother.

2. Prince Harry and his father Prince Charles

On the other hand, Prince Harry’s features tend more towards his father’s side. Evidently, the youngest has inherited Prince Charles’ charming smile. Also, when they smile, the two of them can’t help but squint.

3. Prince William and his son Prince George

As usual, the royal family draws inspiration from a variety of outfits worn by previous generations. And this is yet another example: on the left, we see Prince William in a red and white ensemble, very similar to that of his son, Prince George (on the right), several years later. But the similarities are not restricted to clothes, as their gestures are also very similar.

4. Princess Eugenie and her cousin Prince Harry

5. Prince Philip and his grandson Prince Harry

This image is proof of the inheritance not only of genetic traits, but also of a taste for the navy. When looking at Prince Philip, Prince Harry’s grandfather, it is possible to notice the resemblance not only in uniform and posture, but also in the eyes, nose and discreet smile.

6. Duchess Kate Middleton and her daughter Princess Charlotte

In this example, we can see how Princess Charlotte inherited the piercing gaze and profile of her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge. It is very likely that, in adulthood, the girl will resemble her mother.

7. Prince Charles and his grandson Prince Louis

The same occurs with several generations of difference, as is the case of the following images: on the left is Prince Charles with his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and on the right, Prince Louis. Obviously, grandson and grandfather share many similar traits, such as hair, eyes and huge cheeks.

8. Princess Charlotte and lady Sarah Chatto

Another example of genetic inheritance is the resemblance between little Charlotte, in the first image, and the eldest daughter of Princess Margaret (sister of Queen Elizabeth II), lady Sarah Chatto, pictured with George Windsor when they were both little. Sarah, in the pink dress, is the princess’ second great-aunt. Isn’t it amazing how similar the two are?

9. Prince Edward and his grandfather King George VI

10. King Edward VII and his great-great-grandson Prince Charles

The Windsor family maintains its traits very ingrained among its descendants. In that case, Prince Charles and his great-great grandfather are very similar, not just physically. In addition to having similar hairstyles, build and faces, the two were given the title of Prince of Wales.

11. Queen Elizabeth II and her daughter Princess Anne

Of all the children of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Princess Anne stands out for looking a lot like her mother when the monarch was young. The two have very similar features not only in hair color and style, but also in their faces.

12. Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Princess Margaret

Finally, we need to mention the great similarity between Queen Elizabeth II and her sister, Princess Margaret. In youth, they had such similar physiques that someone not so attentive could confuse them. In addition, the fact that, in royalty, protocols required a kind of classic wardrobe, increased the difficulty of distinguishing them, since even their clothes were similar.
