11 tips for having a spa day at home and taking care of yourself

With the rush of everyday life – work, traffic, family, full email inbox – having time for yourself seems like a dream, doesn’t it? How about, then, separate a few hours of the day to just take care of your well-being?

You don’t have to go to a luxury spa for this! With a few simple tips, you can turn your bathroom into the setting for great moments. And treatments for your beauty can be done with the products you already have.

How to turn your home into a private spa, with everything you’re entitled to

The first thing you need to do is organize your tasks so that you have some free time. If you have children, leave them in the care of someone, at least for an hour. The moment is yours – and we know you need it (and deserve it).

1. Pour yourself a nice glass of wine

Or sparkling wine. Just to celebrate what an amazing person you are – and kick-start your relaxation session. If you prefer (or are under 18), it is worth preparing that juice you like the most, or a very tasty tea.

2. Put on your favorite songs to play

It is you who chooses the climate of your spa. Want something more relaxing? Opt for a calmer, instrumental or MPB playlist. Want to cheer up? Turn up the volume and opt for rock or pop. Want to sing out loud? Maybe a powerful countryman is the way for you. The important thing is that you like it and that it creates the atmosphere you want.

3. Light candles or incense

Leave the bedroom or bathroom with a more intimate and fragrant atmosphere. Lighting with just the light of candles gives a special air to the environment. Already a lavender incense conveys tranquility and has the power to calm the mind.

4. Separate a robe or your softest towel

Everyone has a great towel at home, which is even a pain to use. Today is the day to bring yours to the game!

5. Moisturize your hair

There are several options on the market for different types of hair. Choose a hydration ampoule that is the most suitable for your hair and follow the instructions on the package for an even more incredible result.

6. Apply a mask to the face

You can buy ready-made clay masks at pharmacies. They are products that nourish the skin and give an up to the face. But it is also possible to make a very simple homemade recipe. Make a paste by mashing a ripe banana. Gently apply to face and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

7. Exfoliate the skin

By exfoliating, you eliminate dead cells and impurities from your skin. To make a homemade scrub, mix sugar with your favorite moisturizer. Apply to the entire body, massaging in circular motions. Then rinse.

8. Hydrate every inch of your body

What is the most powerful and scented moisturizer you have at home? That’s the one you’re going to use. Apply without sparing the entire body.

9. Pay attention to your feet

They are the ones who take you everywhere and even face a high heel from time to time. Taking care of your feet is essential! For this moment of relaxation, make a foot bath with hot water and coarse salt. Soak your feet in for half an hour – ideal time to watch an episode of a series. After that, massage them gently and apply a moisturizer or essential oil.

10. Get your nails done

If you know how to do your own nails, take advantage of this moment. After the bath the skin is much softer, facilitating the removal of cuticles. Choose a pretty nail polish color and go for it!

11. Go do some activity you enjoy

After all this process is done, forget about the dishes in the sink and go do something for yourself. Read a book, watch a movie, eat a brigadeiro without feeling guilty… Enjoy all the sensations!

Try doing this skincare routine at least once a month. Taking care of your well-being is important for your life to be lighter and happier. 😉
