11 Actors who were successful in famous soap operas, but didn’t like their characters

Working on TV in a successful production is the wish of many actors out there. However, appearing in a prime-time show is not always synonymous with job satisfaction. Some celebrities who acted in soap operas known to the public did not hide their disappointment with the roles they played.

Responsible for unforgettable soap operas such as Por Amor and Laços de Família, Manoel Carlos was unable to repeat the success of his previous works in Viver a Vida. In the plot, Taís Araujo faced the challenge of living the protagonist, the first black Helena written by the author.

Years later, however, the actress declared that she did not like the text: “My character was a mistake”, the girl confessed. At the time, the drama of model Luciana, played by Alinne Moraes, ended up gaining greater prominence in history.

Bahuan, Marcio Garcia’s role in Caminho das Índias, is yet another case of a protagonist who doesn’t seem to have worked. Initially, he would form a romantic couple with the girl in the story, Maya, played by Juliana Paes. But the lack of chemistry between the actors demanded that the author, Gloria Perez, provide some changes to the plot.

The boy lost prominence in the serial, while Raj, played by Rodrigo Lombardi, won the heroine’s heart. Marcio even confessed that the character did not work out: “If it were my beginning, my career would be compromised”, revealed the heartthrob.

The soap opera Salve Jorge does not seem to be among Vera Fischer’s favorite works. At the time of the airing of the plot, the actress criticized the little importance of her character, Irina, and stated that, after so many years of career, she hoped to play a more prominent role.

On social media, the blonde ended up becoming a subject among netizens for appearing sitting in virtually every scene. After the statements, the veteran stayed away from Globo productions for some time.

Marcello Antony also revealed a feeling of dissatisfaction with one of his works on TV. In the soap opera Amor à Vida, he played Eron, a lawyer who was Niko’s partner, played by Thiago Fragoso.

For the actor, however, the plot did not adequately address the homosexual family relationship and focused only on comic situations. The heartthrob even declared that his character’s attitudes in the story were shallow and derisory.

Marcello Antony was not the only Amor à Vida star who was unhappy with the role he played in the soap opera. A few months after the end of the recordings, Fúlvio Stefanini also confessed the dissatisfaction he felt with the text of the feuilleton.

According to the veteran, his character, Denizard, was eventually forgotten by the author and excluded from the central plot.

Marco Pigossi caused a stir when he commented on the re-presentation of Fina Estampa, a serial in which he played the character Rafael. In an interview, the actor stated that he felt dissatisfied with the text and even with his look at the time.

“I’m ashamed of some things that are talked about in the soap opera, of how they are treated, a little ashamed of my performance and my blonde locks”, he revealed. For the heartthrob, the rerun of the plot should be “forbidden”.

Another member of the Fina Estampa cast who complained about the figure he played was veteran Eri Johnson. He commented that his character in the plot, the Giant, was lost in history and without any narrative function.

The actor pondered that the role could have been better used, but acknowledged that he should have complained less at the time.

The talented Lima Duarte did not hide the dissatisfaction he felt when playing the farmer Max, the great villain of the soap opera Araguaia. Experienced in the profession, he even declared, at the time, that the role was “very boring”.

However, despite his displeasure, the actor acknowledged that he did a good job and that the character’s repercussion was positive.

Miguel Falabella spared no criticism of the text of the classic novel A Viagem. At the time, the actor stated that the pace of filming was quite tiring and that he had to shoot many scenes in different settings.

For the author Solange Castro Neves, one of the collaborators of the plot, the artist’s dissatisfaction was directly related to the role he played. The novelist revealed that Falabella intended to live a comic type, which was not the case for her character, the rigid Raul.

Sonho Meu was another successful Globo production shown in the 1990s. But actor José de Abreu, who was featured in the story, seems to have been bothered by the direction of his character, the villain Geraldo.

At the time, he declared that the plot was not one of the best works he had ever done and that the plot, because it was full of contradictions, did not make sense. Dissatisfied with television at the time, the artist also stated that, if he could, he would stop acting in soap operas. Fortunately, that didn’t happen.

Luiza Tomé also did not like the treatment her character received in the soap opera Máscaras, shown on Record TV. The actress even stated, on a social network, that that would be her last work with the author Lauro César Muniz.

The veteran felt that she was just making an appearance in the plot, as the role she played had no relevance to the story. At the time, Luiza also confessed that she had lost all desire to record her scenes.
