Percy Jackson and the olympians

Rick Riordan — Intrinsic Editor

When Rick Riordan started writing Percy Jackson in 2005, he didn’t expect the incredible impact it would have. The author — who is now a former high school history teacher in the United States — decided to put on paper the stories he told his son diagnosed with ADHD. To create them, Rick Riordan was inspired by a creative writing activity made for teenagers where they should create sons and daughters of gods inspired by forgotten mythologies and Greek legends. Percy’s story introduces us to a 12-year-old boy with dyslexia and behavior problems, who soon discovers that the unusual situations he lives in are actually a consequence of his heritage as a demigod. It didn’t take long for the adventures of Percy and his friends to win the hearts of young readers around the world and for the series to enter the list of the most loved in nerd culture. Sarcastic, educational and really funny, the work and its author were so successful that he created four more literary sagas that embark on the Norse, Egyptian and Roman mythological worlds.
