  • Add 1 teaspoon of lavender flowers to a 200 ml cup of hot water (temperature between 90°C to 100°C);
  • Set aside the infusion for about 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and serve!

Another excellent method of use is to make “compresses for the relief of headaches, menstrual cramps and relief from the burning sensation of minor burns, or even for aromatherapy”, explained the herbalist. Follow the step by step:

  • Heat the water until it reaches a tolerable temperature for the skin;
  • Add a few drops of lavender essential oil (about 1 drop for every 100 ml of water);
  • Dip a towel or gauze in water, remove excess water and apply on forehead and temples for headaches or aromatherapy, or on the lower abdomen in case of menstrual cramps;
  • Keep the compress in place for a few minutes. If the fabric is losing its temperature, you can rewet it and put it back in place.

However, the professional indicated the cold compress for cases of light burns or bruises.

To enjoy a relaxing bath, add 100 g of lavender flowers or 6 to 10 drops of the plant’s essential oil to your bath water.
