Women test expensive and cheap cosmetics and share what they found

Hi! I’m Maria, I love makeup and I usually buy eyeliners, eye-catching lipsticks and different highlighters, among the most diverse cosmetics. Recently, I asked myself if, in the world of cosmetics, price really equals quality. But I have found that, for example, an expensive mascara can start to run right after being applied, whereas a cheap lipstick stays on the lips all day.

Especially for the awesome.club, I asked some women to use cheap and then expensive cosmetics to see the difference. So, we compared the results and drew some conclusions from our experiment. See what we discovered!

As a teenager, I used to spend a lot of time and money on makeup, but then I cut back on cosmetics and now tend to buy beauty products cheaply or in small packages to keep them from going past their sell-by date.

In my case, I always keep an eyeshadow and a blush I bought it how many years ago. I was impressed with the miracles of makeup done by the makeup artist using my cheap cosmetics and I understood that the result depends more on the level of professionalism than the price of the items.

I didn’t notice much difference between the makeups, but, in my opinion, the expensive eye shadow ran too fast. The brow pomade seems to create a better effect than the eyeshadow.

I didn’t see a big difference between an expensive makeup and a cheap one, but I liked the makeup made with cheap cosmetics the most. For me, it doesn’t matter the price of products, but the ability to apply them correctly. I think I will opt for cheap or mid-priced cosmetics. Also, don’t forget to look for reviews on the desired item before making a purchase.

Today, there are countless cosmetic options on the market; therefore it is impossible to advise buying products from a single segment. It is possible to find amazing items for a pittance, as well as pay a lot for a low-quality cosmetic. What I can say for sure is that it is not worth saving on skin care products.

In general, I liked the more expensive foundation, concealer and eyeshadow better. They showed a better effect than cheaper options.

There are so many different products on the market these days that you can find cheap cosmetics that are of the same (or better) quality than expensive items that aren’t always priced right. Personally, I prefer expensive eyeliners as they are easier to apply and create more saturated and long-lasting lines.

I also liked the expensive foundation better, but it left the makeup heavy, and I choose lighter textures on a daily basis. However, it could also be that I simply made the wrong choice. Also, I see no reason to spend a lot of money on an expensive eyebrow gel. I usually do my eyebrows with a glycerin soap or an inexpensive gel.

I believe that sometimes buying cosmetics at a high price makes no sense at all, as this does not provide any guarantee of quality. To do a cheaper makeup, I used a more affordable eyeshadow to give an illuminator effect. It’s a tip that a makeup artist gave: apply it replacing the similar product, which costs five times more.

It is worth noting that I usually buy shadows from professional brands or from the middle price segment. They blend better and don’t get smudged, in addition to having a greater variety of shades than the cheaper ones. Cheap options are runny even with foundation applied.

I prefer cheap cosmetics. I don’t think it’s necessary to buy a huge eyeshadow palette for hundreds of reais to use two or three shades at most. I also don’t see the difference between the two makeups. The only expensive product I will continue to use is mascara.
