The decision resulted in yet another scandal: the last time a member of the royal family had married a commoner was 450 years earlier. This time Margaret put her foot down and got permission to marry. The marriage took place in 1960.

The dress chosen by the bride was relatively simple, but extremely beautiful and elegant. The wedding was magnificent, and went down in history as the first real ceremony broadcast live on TV. Before long, the couple would have two children: David and Sara.

However, two such strong and temperamental personalities would hardly live in peace under one roof, showing that marrying someone just to get revenge on your ex is never a good idea.
