What the protagonists of the “Chernobyl” series were like in real life

Since it was launched in May, the series Chernobyl turned into something of a critical and public phenomenon. On the IMDb page (Internet Movie Database), a world reference in the evaluation of productions for TV and cinema, the attraction received a grade of 9.6 (out of a maximum of 10), which placed it in first place in this ranking, at the ahead, for example, of Breaking Bad (9.5), Game Of Thrones (9.4) and Friends (8.9). The series was produced based on the book Voices from Chernobyl, by Belarusian author Svetlana Aleksiévich, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

In this post, we will show you the real historical figures behind the characters that, in the production, were embodied by a group of talented actors. It is important to note that Ulana Khomyuk, played by the British Emily Watson, is fictional, created from the characteristics of several scientists who, at the height of the catastrophe, fought bravely to minimize the effects of what is considered one of the biggest nuclear accidents in history.
