Now that you know what bagua is, we are going to teach you how to use it. To successfully apply Feng Shui in your home or office, you need to define the bagua, or Feng Shui energy map, of your space.

But before that, it is important to understand the two schools of bagua for Feng Shui. This will help you deal with bagua details like missing areas or extensions.

There are two very different ways to apply the bagua principle: the classical school and the western school.

If you’re new to Feng Shui, don’t try to apply both baguas at the same time, as this can cause a lot of confusion and poor results. The best recommendation is to learn the basics of each school, then choose the one that feels most natural.

To use the classic bagua app, you need to have the compass reading from your front door.

In the western bagua, compass directions are not taken into account.

Instead, in the western school, the bagua is defined by lining up the lower end of the bagua’s basic grid with the wall of the front door of your home or office.

In both classical and western schools, the size of the bagua center varies depending on many factors. The dynamics of the house plan, for example, as well as the energy of the people who live in it, can affect the size of the center of the bagua.

Where to hang the bagua

Not all Feng Shui bagua mirrors are the same. Here’s how to use a bagua, depending on the type of mirror and need.

Using Bagua in Feng Shui

Then take your bagua or print out a bagua image like the one shown below and place it in the center of the plant, i.e. in the middle of your house.

The point of work (business) should point towards the front door of your house. Ready, your bagua is already positioned!

Now you know which room represents each of the fundamental principles of the bagua. That is, you know where fame, love, wealth and all areas of your life are in your home. So, you can use the Feng Shui elements and colors for each sector in each of the rooms.

For example, let’s assume your room is on the family side of the bagua. Then, you should arrange it with the colors and elements of the family which are the green color and wooden elements.
