What does “sky blue french tip 1.5” mean on TikTok?

A new nail trend is going viral on TikTok, confusing everyone.

Last year girls asked their boyfriend what nail color they should see if they answered with the common answer “light blue”.

According to TikTok, all guys seem to tell their girlfriends to get light blue nails, and that’s actually a symbol of being in a relationship.

Getting light blue nails means you have a significant other and apparently is a way of letting others know you’re officially taken.

Now a new nail with sky blue French tip 1.5 nails has gone viral, but what does that mean? Read on to find out…

The “Sky Blue French Tip 1.5” trend is going viral

A new trend is going viral on TikTok, with men telling their girlfriend to get a specific nail design, “sky blue French tip 1.5 inch”.

“She asked me what nail color to get so I told her ‘French tip sky blue 1.5’ now I’m banned,” one person wrote.

Another said: “The next time she asks for a nail color she says ‘sky blue French tip 1.50’ and waits for a response.”

“Next time your girl asks you what color her nails say, ‘French Tip Sky Blue 1.5 Inches,’ see what she says,” added a third person.

The videos went viral in June and some had over 400,000. People clearly find her totally hilarious – but why?

The TikTok trend explained

The trend is used by friends to prank their girlfriend into thinking they cheated on her.

“French Tip Sky Blue 1.5” is a very specific nail design and most men don’t know what it means so it would make their girlfriend suspicious to say it.

Girls would expect their boyfriend to say a simple color like “pink” or “red,” so they might think her boyfriend was talking to another girl when they say “French Lace Sky Blue 1.5.”

Guys joke that girls block them or go crazy thinking they’ve been unfaithful but it’s all just a silly TikTok prank.

It doesn’t actually make any sense

In reality, the trend doesn’t even make sense because girls would never ask for 1.5 inch nails.

Sky blue and French lace are pretty believable, but boys are showing their lack of nail knowledge with the bizarre length.

When you visit a nail shop, instead of asking for a specific length in inches, they show them the length they want, so the prank is pretty stupid.

In the comments, one fan wrote: “As nail techs we don’t use 1.50. Say, “Get a coffin with V French Tips.”

“Does anyone actually use the 1.50 because I never say a number, I just show them what I want,” said another.

Well, that’s another silly TikTok trend explained!
