What 18 Marvel Movie Characters Originally Looked Like In The Comics

Actor Paul Bettany’s 7-year-old daughter cried when filming for “Avengers: Age of Ultron” was completed🇧🇷 because “she wanted her purple dad back”. And children always tell the truth! Anyway, the MCU (which stands for “Marvel Cinematic Universe”) has definitely achieved unparalleled success! But what will be your secret? Well, we believe it’s just the magical union between a brilliant cast, an amazing script and the development of the characters throughout the films. But the most important element is the love of comics. However, sometimes you have to sacrifice some things for the greater good, even if it means deviating a little from the original version.

O awesome.club compared the appearance of his favorite Marvel characters in the comics to how they were portrayed in the movies.

1. The Vision

The Vision lost its bright colors and darkened them for the movies. However, the costume design is very similar to the original comics.

Take a look at Paul Bettany getting ready to shoot.

2. Mantis

We last saw this character in “Avengers: Infinity War”. In fact, she looks more like a warrior in the original version than in the movie. On the big screen, Mantis has a less natural attire made of leather. Even her style is a bit similar to Loki’s.

3. Hawkeye

4. Thor

The hammer god… Oh, I mean, we’re referring to the thunder god. This character has lost his helmet in all of his movie appearances! It looks like it resembles more like the comics during his fight with Hulk in the latest movie “Thor: Ragnarok”. But at this point he no longer has his beautiful long hair or his hammer. For the rest of the movie, the costumes are very similar to the original, and Chris Hemsworth really does look like a god.

5. Loki

Loki, the god of evil, brother of Thor and son of Odin (adopted, as most will remember), luckily didn’t lose his helmet during incarnation within the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

6. Black Panther

Wakanda forever! Less gold detailing can be seen in the film’s character. Furthermore, he also lost his cloak. It seems that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Black Panther is more modest and even more elegant. Also, it’s pretty hard to beat something that’s all black (without so many accessories).

7. Ant-Man

Scott is very similar in both the movies and the comics, but in the cartoon version he has those little insect antennae that make him look more like an ant.

8. Aunt May

Spider-Man’s aunt becomes younger and younger in each new superhero movie. In the latest release for the big screen, “Spider-Man: Homecoming”🇧🇷 she is definitely not an elder. She’s more of a “sensuous Italian woman,” as the clerk at the store where Peter orders a sandwich puts it.

9. Elder

10. Scarlet Witch

She may still have an affair with the Vision, but in this Marvel Cinematic Universe she’s lost her mask and her hat, which has probably gotten better. These things aren’t very useful during fight scenes.

11. Iron Man

Writer Stan Lee himself repeatedly claims that Robert Downey Jr. was born to play the character of Tony Stark. And we totally agree with him! As for his appearance, writer-director Jon Favreau kept it as close to the comics as possible. And the rest… well, the rest is history.

12. Gamora

Do not Cry! We have to believe that she’s going to be okay, just like everyone else. As for her costume, Peter Quill definitely wanted her to be as close to the comics as possible, but isn’t it a little old-fashioned?

13. Captain America

In the first movie, our dear Captain America is very similar to the comic book character. Same colors, helmet and shield (well maybe the latter isn’t made with a vibranium alloy, but…). the interpretation and spirit that Chris Evans brings to the character is perfect.

14. Bucky

The “Winter Soldier” from the comics is more like Robin Hood than a soldier. The Russo brothers (who directed the film) like to make things more authentic, don’t they?

15. Grand Master

16. Groot

The Groot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is more of a free-spirited hippie kid. Anyway, why would he need clothes?

17. Valkyrie

Beware of a new girl in this Universe. It seems like the movie character is ruder and doesn’t really care about his hairstyle (is it a ponytail?). But Valkyrie kept her Asgardian cape like the one in the comic book, and she looks great!

18. Heimdall

It’s possible that Heimdall is vegan in the film, but he doesn’t originally wear artificial skins in the comics. This guy has a sword in his hand as well as a helmet which makes him very scary. Oh, don’t let anyone neglect his back!
