Visit: Origin 75 –

Hello, dear reader and dear reader of Good shape! Those of you who follow us closely have noticed that we have recently entered a new phase, different from the many moments we have shared over the last 35 years (yes, that is the age of Good shape and we talk about her with great pride!), isn’t it? In the current proposal of unveiling well-being in four pillars – movement, balance, beauty and food – we felt that it was time to visit, test and approve (or not) what is new out there.

In the face of the tragic situation of the pandemic, the context could not be more delicate – but the advancement of vaccination rekindles the hope of being able to leave the house again without tension or risks of contamination. With caution (and mask, always), our team starts to tell here in this #BoaFormaVisita space our impressions of visits to restaurants, spas, parks and other exciting corners of our country.

In this debut text, I would like to introduce myself: I am the Helena Galante, great pleasure! Today I am editor-in-chief here at and a columnist for the A Tal Felicidade section of Veja São Paulo. I also created and commanded the podcast two years ago journey of calm, precisely about well-being. For ten years, however, my career had another focus: the gastronomy. I was a reporter and editor of the annual guide See Eat & Drink and visiting cafes, snack bars and restaurants was part of my everyday life.

I promise to tell you at a next opportunity what it was like to eat so much (it was a lot!) without losing focus and impartiality in evaluating the dishes – and not exaggerating the dose to the point of compromising my health. For now, I want to talk about my first visit here at . On a cold Saturday, I went to the restaurant Origin 75.

One of the flagships of the space, located at the entrance to Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo, is the use of organic food grown in-house and from small producers in the region. If you, like me, love a vegetable garden, be warned: production is not located next to the restaurant. But it is possible to order and take home an assorted basket of fresh leaves and other products.

The space with many outdoor tables is a great option for those who have wisely avoided indoors. On the day of the visit, however, availability upon arrival was for an indoor table (located next to a large window kept open and away from other tables). The team, duly equipped with a mask, suggested a small portion of mixed pastries (R$ 36.00) as a starter. Here in Good shape We’ve already talked about the end of diets, the appreciation of real food and the search for balance. That is, it’s ok to fry once in a while. As the flavor of the meat and cheese fillings was not outstanding, it is worth asking for a good dose of the house pepper (tastier than the industrialized version brought to the table).

I found the house salad (R$32.00) more interesting. Forget bland lettuce: the leaf mix includes purple kale, green kale, spinach, arugula, cabotiá squash, organic beetroot accompanied by goat cheese and a mix of nuts. They had edible flowers too, very tasty!

On most tables, the choice was a wood-roasted beef rib for 12 hours (R$ 256.00). My appetite wasn’t for that much and I had the wood-fired chicken marinated in orange (R$ 52.00). Although the white meat was tender, some pieces were more dry. The accompaniment was even more enchanting: a mashed potato (R$ 20.00). Did you find it too simple? Well, I tell you that he took a lot of garlic and organic onion on the grill, which guaranteed a very tasty rustic touch.

To finish off without being afraid of sugar, if you have two people, don’t forget the rustic apple pie also baked in wood (R$ 29.00). Made with the whole fruit, peel and all, and a crunchy and steaming sweet mass, the delicacy is even better with an artisanal vanilla ice cream, made with less preservatives than the industrialized version. A grand finale for someone who had been avoiding going out for a long time but gladly accepted the professional mission.
