This drawing test will show you how you face your problems

Psychologists know well how much a drawing made by a person can reveal a lot about his personality. Tests of this type refer to projective techniques in psychodiagnosis. You just need a sheet of paper, a pencil and a few minutes. Let your imagination fly!

At the awesome.club we prepared a curious test called “Under the rain”. It can be done by both adults and children who already know how to draw. It is part of the “Drawing a person” methodology and allows you to understand how you deal with problems.

Remember that this test should not be taken too seriously. For this, it is necessary to seek the guidance of a qualified professional.

So let’s get started: take a sheet of A4 paper (bond) and place it vertically. Now, imagine a person in the rain and draw him. Take your time and images can be done on both sides of the paper. You can make the representation in more detail or just schematically. Your creation will show you how you deal with difficult situations in life.

Rain symbolizes an uncomfortable and unpleasant environment. To begin, assess the general mood of the cartoon and the character in particular, how he or she reacts to rain. This will show your reaction to uncomfortable situations.

traits. How did you draw the rain? If you represented it with few stripes or lines, all in one direction or with a few drops, it means that the environment around you is balanced and you perceive difficulties as temporary and passing. If the drawing has many unordered strokes, the environment is perceived as alarming and unstable. If you have heavy, shadowy drops, you have a lot of negative thoughts and don’t see a way out. Vertical strokes indicate your stubbornness and determination.

Drawing style. A drawing done in a childish style indicates that it needs approval. If it’s a caricature, you feel incomplete and can’t stand being judged or evaluated.
Place of the drawing on the sheet. If you made your drawing at the top, you have very high self-esteem and seek greater recognition. If it’s at the bottom of the page, you’re not very sure of yourself. If the design is in the center, it indicates that you have no self-esteem issues.
The person’s body. If the guy is running or on his back, it means you’d rather hide from problems than face them. If you’re walking, it shows that you can adapt well to any environment. A person bent over by the gusts of wind indicates that he needs love and protection. If you’re showing the person’s left profile, it suggests that you think too much about the past; if you show your right side, it symbolizes that your thoughts are about the future. If the image is of the character’s profile and his body facing forward, it indicates anxiety and lack of communication. An unstable pose of the character speaks of a lack of inner security and tension. A person sitting or lying down suggests passivity.

Means of protection against rain. Umbrella, hat or raincoat are symbols of the protective mechanisms you use to deal with adverse situations. A huge umbrella covering the person can indicate a strong dependence on parents or a desire to have the support of stronger people. If the subject is wearing a hat, it indicates that in difficult times he expects support from superiors. If you are not using any means of protection from the rain, it shows that you feel bad in the environment and need protection.
Clothing. If the person is wearing a lot of clothing for shelter, it means they need additional protection. Lack of clothing may indicate some impulsiveness and a tendency to deny certain behavioral stereotypes.

Clouds and puddles. The presence of clouds in the drawing indicates that you usually expect problems ahead of time. In a state of depression, we attract dark clouds, which cover the entire sky. Puddles are the consequences of negative situations or concerns left by the “rain”. If the puddles are to the people’s left, the source of their problems is in the past; if they are on the right, then they are in the future. If your character is standing in a puddle, it indicates that you are not satisfied and feel disoriented.
Lightning and rainbows. If you drew lightning, serious changes are coming in your life. The rainbow indicates that you dream of an ideal life, but this is not real.
Additional Details. Any additional detail, be it a building, transport, plants, objects that the drawing brings, indicates a need for external support for a difficult time. You tend to get distracted by small problems instead of solving the main one. And light symbols, such as a chandelier, lamp or sun, can represent people who are important to you.
