The story of Zach and Tori Roloff, proof that love knows no limits or stereotypes

The reality show Little People Big World premiered in the United States in 2006 and showed the life of an Oregon family. One of their children is Zach Roloff, a man with a special condition called dwarfism. Zach is 1.32 m and has had numerous medical complications, but that hasn’t stopped him from finding true love. Zach and Tori’s romantic story, like many others, happened quite unexpectedly and crossed many barriers.

O awesome.club believes in the power of love and believes that this feeling is fundamental so that, together, we can build a fairer and happier society. With that in mind, today we want to tell the story of Tori and Zach that leads us to reflect on stereotypes and the true meaning of the word companionship.

Zach and Tori met in 2010 when Tori started working on Zach’s parents’ farm to help out. The young woman picked pumpkins with Zach and his parents, Matt and Amy, who also have dwarfism.

In an interview with People magazine, Tori recalled how they first met: “A coworker told me, ‘Zachary really thinks you’re cute, but he thinks you don’t want to date him,’” she said. 🇧🇷Our first date lasted five hours and we’ve been together ever since.🇧🇷

While it was clear from the start that Tori and Zach were genuinely interested in each other, this was all new to Zach. As he told People magazine, this was his first date and he didn’t know what to expect. 🇧🇷I never had a boyfriend before”, he revealed in the interview.

Fortunately, Tori was patient and spent many days at Zach’s family farm. They started playing soccer on the weekends, which helped Zach feel more comfortable taking it a step further.

The two got married in July 2015. After the wedding, Zach confessed that Tori pulled him out of his “cocoon”, causing him to open up more, becoming a much more sociable person. “She gave me confidence,” he said in the interview.

Their relationship ended up being recorded in the program A Pequena Grande Família; At first, Tori was uncomfortable, but later realized that the show helped her understand one important thing about her family: “We are a unique couple and we have a really cool story to share, but it all felt terrifying,” she said. “However, the show helped me realize that I shouldn’t worry about what other people will think.”

Zach and Tori welcomed their first child, Jackson, in 2017. Like his father, he has a form of dwarfism.

In 2021, the couple welcomed little Lilah Ray; and in 2022, the family proudly announced that they were expecting their third child.

Tori and Zach have been through many challenges together, including a miscarriage. In the interview, Tori revealed, “My husband has been my unshakable rock throughout this journey. He’s been by my side through everything and I couldn’t have done any of this without him.”

She also confessed, “If there’s any silver lining to this story, it’s the realization of how truly blessed we are. We have two happy, healthy kids, and I know that doesn’t happen to everyone. We have two children to love every day.”
