Jordana Gleise de Jesus Menezes is the name of Jojo Todynho or Jojo Maronttinni, who achieved fame by releasing the musical hit Que Tiro foi Esse, in 2020 and having made a cameo in the soap opera A Força do Querer. She later won the reality show A Fazenda and later participated in other TV shows, such as Dança dos Famosos.

The artist became the first black woman to have a talk show in Brazil, with the program Jojo Nove e Meia, aired by Multishow. Carioca, born and raised in Bangu, on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Her family is made up of women, like her grandmother Rita, her mother and her aunt. They had a strong influence on her personality.

She has a respectful relationship of love and dialogue with her family, who have always been very welcoming, showing Jojo that she was not alone. A taste for music started early in her life, as Jojo participated in a church choir and dance and singing events at school. She had numerous professions before her fame, such as cleaning, street vendor, babysitter, popsicle saleswoman, telephone operator.

Since I was a child, I always liked to help and defend others. “We are raised and born in despair, we understand each other”. If she weren’t a singer, she would be an actress, because she is a soap opera artist. She could also be a psychologist.

It carries out social actions, such as the distribution of 3,000 basic food baskets or social actions directly to children. “There’s a lot of cool stuff going on, but I don’t know if it’s sensationalism, ego or teasing, but this is little talked about by the media”.

Jojo and Mumuzinho visited communities in Rio de Janeiro that suffered from floods. They took groceries, water, blankets and other items in Realengo and in the community of Vila de Deodoro. “We don’t need a close-up, we need help,” he said.

Jojo’s success made it possible for her to change her life and also provide more comfort for her family. She renovated Dona Rita’s house, which was raining inside. When the artist lived with her, she slept on the floor. It was like this for many years until the house was restructured, that she felt in her heart the feeling of mission accomplished.

She dreams of motherhood and reveals her fear that she won’t have time for Dona Rita to live with her great-grandson, as she turned 77 in October 2021. “I’m afraid my grandmother will leave.
