The home trick to remove the musty smell from inside the closet and clothes

A Sunday afternoon probably won't be enough, but it will take at least a full day to pack boxes and think about a new arrangement of clothes. Then, of course, there is the cleaning of the closet in question, and this is where an unpleasant surprise can arise: the smell of mold.

During the week, we probably don't realize it, being in a hurry and constantly late, but what to do now? Fortunately, there is no shortage of clever tricks to solve the problem: here we explain how to eliminate the smell of mold from closets and clothes with these inexpensive remedies.

The first solution, and the best known, is to use two products that are less aggressive than detergents, but equally effective: baking soda and vinegar. Simply mix 30 grams of baking soda with 240 ml of vinegar to create a mixture with which to wash clothes impregnated with bad odors.

Once the clothes have been refreshed, all that remains is to dust and perfume the closet. It is interesting to discover that many useful ingredients are hidden in the kitchen. For example, we can try putting rosemary sprigs in a bottle of ethyl alcohol and letting them infuse for a few days.

Once ready, spray the surfaces of the closet, obviously without overdoing it, and then wipe them with a microfiber cloth. The potential of coffee beans should not be underestimated either: just place small bowls of coffee beans on doors and drawers for a while to absorb moisture.

An even cheaper ingredient fulfills a similar function: rice. It is no coincidence that when our cell phone gets wet because it falls into the toilet or a drink is accidentally spilled on it, we immediately cover it with rice. As for the closet, just distribute small cotton bags with rice in the different compartments.

Before closing them, we can also add lavender, aromatic herbs or even essential oils to achieve a more intense fragrance.
