The home anti-fly remedy with which you can be with the window open

How many times have we come home and found our kitchens invaded by fruit flies and botflies? This is the perfect time of year for these insects to proliferate. They begin to populate the air, settle in plants, trees and everything they find along the way. Flies, more than fruit flies, like to wander and flutter everywhere. And when they find an open window or door, they don't hesitate to enter and buzz.

Anyone who thinks this is an indication of dirt is actually wrong. Even after spring cleaning we can be invaded by mosquitoes. They are attracted to strong, sweet smells, such as vinegar, red wine, and beer. But also the fruit and the smell of food cooking in a pot. However, there are methods that, unlike chemical insecticides, can get rid of the problem completely naturally. Insecticides are chemical substances that help us against flies and botflies, but they are not so suitable when we have animals or children at home. They would also be inadvisable in environments such as the kitchen, where they come into contact with the surfaces we use daily or the food we consume.

As we have said, strong odors are especially attractive to flies and botflies, and we can use this to our advantage. We can opt for a mixture of 1 liter of white vinegar and half a liter of mint. We let it marinate for a week in a covered jar and, once ready, we just have to filter it and put it in a spray can. Then we can spray it in the kitchen, bathroom or other rooms in the house to eliminate flies. Another possibility is basil. Placing a fresh plant on the windowsill will keep flies out.

Be careful, because if it is not well cared for or is full of pests, we can end up with a whole swarm of flies stuck to the plant. Lastly, we can also create a completely natural homemade insecticide. Take half a liter of water, a tablespoon of liquid dish soap, mix and stir. Spray on the threshold of windows and doors and this will keep away annoying buzzing noises. These clever little tricks will be enough to get rid of them once and for all.
