Technique for Deciding

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a fertile field of research within the USA. One of the most researched branches is trying to find people who are excellent in a certain area, to understand what exactly they do internally – in their thoughts, feelings and sensations – so that other people can improve a particular skill until it is very similar to that skill of others. people who do it exceptionally well.

This technique was researched among people who need to make a decision quickly and accurately, such as big businessmen, industrialists and politicians. Follow the steps as given below:

Step 1

Identify an area where you want to make a decision.

What decision do you want to make? What is your goal or what are your goals to achieve.

(If you don’t know exactly what your goals are, you can read this text):

step 2

Access a possibility using your visual imagination. In other words, imagine what you might see, hear, feel, say to yourself – if you had already made a decision among the possibilities that exist. Choose just one.

Really try to see reality as if you’ve already made that decision. What happens around you? How is your life, in that area of decision, if you choose this possibility?

step 3

Having done the previous step, start questioning yourself about what you feel. What do you think of what is happening around you? – having made that decision. What does your conscience say to you? What thoughts come to your head?

step 4

Now try to feel. What do you feel? What feelings and sensations arise from what happens when choosing this decision in particular? You feel good? Do you feel bad? You feel happy, sad, happy, content, discouraged, bored…well…choose a few words to define exactly what you feel.

step 5

Having reached step 5, return to the previous steps. Now instead of choosing the initial option, choose another alternative.

It might be interesting to write down all the possibilities that are available to you. It could be just 2 or it could be many more.

Write it down on a small piece of paper.

Decision A –

Decision B –

Decision C –

🇧🇷 and so on.

Do the same as you did in the first decision, with all the possibilities, okay?

step 6

Having already carried out all the previous steps, with all the existing alternatives and possibilities, consider:

– Which of these possibilities do you think is better?

– In which one do you feel better?

– Which one do you like best? Does it give you more happiness and contentment?

– In which one do you think everything is right?

– Write down the reasons why you chose one of these alternatives in particular as the best? What was the criteria? The feeling of happiness and contentment? The feeling of having everything fit into one of them? The intuition that this is the right path? Or yet another criterion?

step 7

Now it is necessary to go a step further. Forgetting what is happening in the present moment, imagine that you are already in the future, deeply experiencing the decision that seemed best to you. You can feel the different environment, perhaps the contact with other people, the light of day or the moon, in short: you can feel every detail and see every movement of how your life is, living the decision that was considered best in the previous step .

step 8

Having experienced, in a very deep and complete way, the future as it is from the best decision, think:

– Is there any major objection within you regarding that best decision?

– Does something tell you that this is not correct, good or sufficient? Or does everything seem to be fine from the best decision (chosen in step 6)?

– Is there a price to pay? What price would you pay for other choices?

If you get to step 8 and there are no major objections, the technique is complete and the decision made.

If there are objections, prices to pay or perhaps even some difficulties, you can return to step 6, choose another decision as the best and continue with steps 7 and 8.
