Self-responsibility for living –

I realize that we are constantly worrying about others, making decisions without taking into account what we want but just to please those around us or even placing all the responsibility for our happiness on someone else. And that can be completely dysfunctional!

“It’s never about the other, it’s always about ourselves”, a phrase I heard last weekend while doing a clowning workshop! When we make a decision, we need to look at our demands, needs, limits and desires. We need to learn to say “no” more to impositions and to say “yes” more to what we feel like.

We need to stop blaming ourselves all the time and understand that we are human, that’s why we make mistakes and that making mistakes is not something extraordinary. We need to stop wanting others to have crystal balls and guess what we would like them to do for us and start doing it for ourselves!

We need to take back the authorresponsibility of living our own life!!!! To care a little less about what others will think, to stop always thinking about pleasing others and to live more for ourselves!

We are living beings and our purpose is simply to live! Enjoy our lives, stop blaming our unhappiness on others and take control of things that concern us.

My whole life they made fun of me for being such a dreamer and I couldn’t understand the reason and I always replied “if I don’t dream for myself, who will?”, and that’s more or less right there! We need to learn to do things for ourselves, to be driven by our dreams, learn to displease others, to be with them because we want to and not because we are forced!

Everyone wins when everyone becomes responsible for their own lives! Husband is not a son and even children need to learn to have more autonomy. I hear a lot in the office of my patients being completely overwhelmed by having to organize and take care of everyone’s life at home and forgetting about themselves.

That’s why today I invite you to live for yourself! Finding out what things you’d like to accomplish for yourself, what foods you want to eat, what activities you want to do or even stop doing. I invite you to dream and execute, to allow yourself to live the beauty of being who you are and ignore what people think about you, after all, life is now and this is your only life. So live in the present and don’t leave it for tomorrow.
