Saturday with “S” for MISSING

Today is Saturday, and it’s the day I miss you the most, because it was our favorite, well… (I think that’s a lie), because we always had the habit of telling every different thing that happened that that was the our favorite:

— This was the best coffee we’ve ever had.

“This was the most amazing night of our lives.

“We’ve never had such a wonderful afternoon.”

“It was the best spaghetti we’ve ever had.”

– This song is the most beautiful of all

— This movie was the most perfect

As much as we went our separate ways, I still love you

(It is amazing that when we are in the habit of being grateful for the simple things, everything becomes wonderfully unique and extraordinary.)

We have, among so many things in common, these DIVINE gifts of appreciation, of gratitude, of being happy at the slightest sound of a leaf falling from the tree or when we take off our flip-flops and step on the grass still wet with serene.

And today, when I hit this nostalgia, the emotion is the same as I felt in those moments of countless favorite songs, cafes and low-carb crimes in the middle of the night or at any time of any Saturday!

I miss your smile so much, your hug, your touch that calmed any storm; I miss sleeping cuddled with you, feeling protected and welcomed; sensations that make us feel comfortable and at home in someone else’s arms.

I even miss the unfounded fights, the meaningless faces and mouths and the goodbye in which we unconsciously appeal to the other, a last kiss, which we didn’t give but that is still needed today.

And here I am, typing this nostalgia on a keyboard, tired of knowing this and not knowing if this energetic message will reach you, as in a tacit agreement and you will come running to meet me, just to say: “I miss you too, for I came back!”
