9. Because you, O Lord, are my refuge. You have made your home in the Most High.
10. No harm will come to you, nor will any plague come to your tent.
11. For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.
12. They will bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13. You will tread on the lion and the snake; You will trample the son of the lion and the serpent under your feet.
14. Because he loved me so dearly, I also will deliver him; I will put him in high retreat, because he has known my name.
15. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will take him out of it, and I will glorify him.
16. I will satisfy him with long days, and I will show him my salvation.

Psalm to ward off evil 140

1. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man; keep me from the violent man,
2. Who thinks evil in his heart; continually gather together for war.
3. They sharpened their tongues like a serpent; the poison of vipers is under their lips. (Saddle.)
4. Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent man; who set out to disturb my steps.
5. The proud have laid snares and ropes for me; they spread the net beside the path; they set me up with slip ties. (Saddle.)
6. I said to the Lord: You are my God; hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.
7. O God the Lord, stronghold of my salvation, you covered my head in the day of battle.
8. Grant not, O Lord, to the wicked his desires; do not promote his evil purpose, lest he be exalted. (Saddle.)
9. As for the heads of those around me, let the wickedness of their lips cover them.
10. Let burning coals fall on them; Let them be thrown into the fire, into deep pits, so that they will not rise again.
11. A man with an evil tongue will not have steadfastness on earth; evil will pursue the violent man until he is banished.
12. I know that the Lord will support the cause of the oppressed, and the rights of the needy.
13. So the righteous will praise your name; the upright will dwell in your presence.

Psalm 7

1. Lord my God, in you I trust; save me from all who persecute me, and deliver me;
2. Lest he snatch my soul like a lion, tearing it to pieces, and there is no one to deliver it.
3. Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is wickedness in my hands,
4. If I paid evil to him who was at peace with me (rather, I delivered him who oppressed me without cause),
5. May the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it; trample my life underfoot on the earth, and reduce my glory to dust. (Saddle.)
6. Arise, O Lord, in your wrath; be exalted because of the wrath of my oppressors; and awaken for me to the judgment you have commanded.
7. So the gathering of people will surround you; For their sakes, therefore, turn to the heights.
8. The Lord will judge the people; Judge me, Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to the integrity that is in me.
9. Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but let the righteous be established; for you, O righteous God, test the hearts and the kidneys.
10. My shield is from God, who saves the upright in heart.
11. God is a just judge, a God who is angry every day.
12. If man does not convert, God will sharpen his sword; he has already drawn his bow, and is equipped.
13. And he prepared deadly weapons for him; and he will bring his fiery arrows into action against the persecutors.
14. Behold, he is in pain of wickedness; he devised works, and produced lies.
15. He dug a well and made it deep, and fell into the pit he made.
16. His work will fall on his head; and his violence will come upon his own head.
17. I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness, and I will sing praises to the name of the Most High Lord.

Psalm 30

1. I will exalt you, O LORD, because you have exalted me; and you have not caused my enemies to rejoice over me.
2. Lord my God, I cried out to you, and you healed me.
3. Lord, you raised my soul from the grave; You saved my life so that I would not descend into the abyss.
4. Sing to the Lord, you who are his saints, and celebrate the memory of his holiness.
5. Because his anger lasts but a moment; In your favor is life. Crying may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
6. I said in my prosperity: I will never waver.
7. You, Lord, have made my mountain strong by your favor; you hid your face, and I was troubled.
8. To you, Lord, I cried, and to the Lord I begged.
9. What profit is there in my blood when I go down into the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will he announce your truth?
10. Hear, Lord, and have mercy on me, Lord; be my help.
11. You turned my mourning into joy; You untied my sackcloth and girded me with joy,
12. That my glory may sing praises to you, and not be silent. Lord, my God, I will praise you forever.
