Psalm of Joy + Gratitude + Hope + Gratitude

When we are happy, we want to thank, praise and shout our happiness to the world. This is also a great time to pray the Psalm of Joy and thank God for the blessing bestowed.

But whoever thinks that the Psalm of joy should only be prayed in happy moments is wrong. In fact, it’s even more effective at times when you’re down, sad, and disillusioned.

As you pray the prayers below, your heart will be filled with hope and you will find the strength you need to overcome the difficulties you are going through.

Psalm of Joy

Psalm 33

This psalm is very didactic. He invites people to unite in praise of God. Yours shows that it is important to trust and wait in the will of the Lord. It is one of the few anonymous psalms in Book I.

Check out Psalm 33 in full now:

“Sing for joy to the Lord,
you who are righteous;
it is well for those who are upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
offer him music with a ten-stringed lyre.
Sing him a new song;
play skillfully while acclaiming it.

For the word of the Lord is true;
he is faithful in everything he does.
He loves justice and righteousness;
the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Through the word of the Lord
the heavens were made,
and the heavenly bodies, by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea into one place;
from the depths it makes reservoirs.
All the earth fear the Lord;
tremble before him
all the inhabitants of the world.
For he spoke, and it was done;
he commanded, and all came.
The Lord undoes the plans of the nations
and frustrates the purposes of the people.
But the Lord’s plans
remain forever,
the purposes of your heart,
for all generations.

How happy is the nation
who has the Lord as God,
the people he chose to be his!
From the heavens the Lord looks
and sees all mankind;
from his throne he watches
all the inhabitants of the earth;
he, who forms the hearts of all,
who knows everything they do.
no king is saved
by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by its great strength.
The horse is a vain hope of victory;
despite his great strength, he is unable to save.
But the Lord protects those who fear him,
those who place their hope in his love,
to deliver them from death and grant them life,
even in times of famine.

Our hope is in the Lord;
he is our help and our protection.
In Him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your love be upon us, Lord,
as our hope is in you.

Psalm of Joy and Thanksgiving

Psalm 30

This psalm tells about a passage where God delivered David’s life from illness. As thanks, David praised him.

Thus, Psalm 30 shows that it is worth having faith and worshiping God.

“I will exalt you, Lord, because you have delivered me;
you did not allow them to rejoice
over me my enemies.
Lord my God,
I cried to you and I was healed.
Lord my soul was taken for you
of the abode of the dead;
of those who go down to the grave,
You saved me.
O ye faithful of the Lord,
sing his glory, give thanks
to His Holy Name.
‘Cause your indignation lasts
just a moment,
while his benevolence is for life.
In the afternoon, tears come, but
in the morning, joy returns.
But I said, sure of myself:

‘I will never be shaken’.
Lord, it was please that you gave me honor and power,
but when you hid your face
I was terrified.
To you, Lord, I cry,
and I implore the mercy of my God.
‘What benefit will it be to you?
to take back my life,
of my descent into the grave?
Shall my dust praise you?
Will he proclaim your faithfulness?
Hear me Lord, and have mercy on me;
Lord, come to my help’.
You turned my tears into pleasure,
you took off my robes of penance
and you girded me for joy.

Thus, my soul will praise You without ever being silent.
Lord my God,
I will bless you eternally.

See the prayer below:

“Shout to God, all the earth, Sing the glory of his name, give him glorious praise.
Say to God: ‘Your works are stupendous!
Such is your power that even enemies glorify you.
Let all the earth bow down before you, and sing in your honor the glory of your name.’
Come and behold the works of God: he has done wonders among the children of men.
Changed the sea to dry land; they crossed the river on dry ground; this is the reason for our joy.
Rule by his power forever; her eyes behold the heathen nations.
May the rebels not raise their heads! Bless, O peoples, our God,
publish your praises!
It was he who preserved the life of our souls, and did not allow our feet to slip, for thou hast tried us, O God, thou hast refined us as silver.

Thou hast let us fall into the snare, thou hast put a heavy burden on our backs.
You put us under the yoke of men, we pass through fire and water; but at last you gave us relief.
It is therefore as burnt offerings that I will come into your house, I will pay the vows I made to you, vows made on my lips, when I was in tribulation.
I will offer the most beautiful sheep as a burnt offering, with the fattest rams; I will sacrifice bulls and goats.
Come, hear all you who fear the Lord.
I will tell you what great things God has done for my soul.
My lips invoked him, with my tongue I praised him.
If I had intended evil in my heart, the Lord would not have listened to me.
But God heard me; he answered the voice of my supplication.
Blessed be God who has not rejected my prayer, nor withdrawn his mercy from me.
