Pimples on the butt: what are they and how to get rid of them

According to the professional, the appearance of folliculitis is usually related to the use of very tight clothes – one of the reasons why the problem is more common among women.

“Some diseases that reduce immunity, such as diabetes, AIDS and leukemia, and the use of corticoids and antibiotics for prolonged periods, can also lead to this problem”, points out Ana Clara.

It is worth mentioning that, although it is not usually painful or dangerous and hardly leaves marks on the skin, folliculitis can lead to the appearance of boils with pus. This, in turn, will cause pain and sensitivity in the region and, as a consequence, increase the chances of the follicle dying.

How to prevent and reduce folliculitis

According to Ana Clara, to prevent the appearance of the bumps on the butt, it is important to maintain hygiene in the area where the problem usually arises. Also, another good option is to do laser hair removal.

“Moisturizing and exfoliating the region also helps in the treatment, as well as avoiding the use of clothes that are too tight and that muffle the skin”, she points out.

When the problem already exists, however, the biomedical doctor points out that it is important to seek a professional to assess the case.

That’s because, according to her, there are several types of folliculitis. In this way, the treatment will depend on the diagnosis, and it is often necessary to use antibiotics and topical or oral antifungals.
