Pierce Brosnan responds to trolls who criticized his wife’s weight and shows us the meaning of true love

Societal stereotypes and prejudices also impact the lives of celebrities. This time, it hit Pierce Brosnan’s beloved wife Keely Shaye Smith. Keely, a mother of two, was openly criticized by trolls for being overweight. Shortly thereafter, the post was deleted, however, Brosnan protected his wife and became a real-life hero.

Former James Bond (1995) Pierce Brosnan has been married to Keely Shaye Smith since 2001. Pierce met Keely when he lost his first wife, Australian actress Cassandra Harris, to ovarian cancer. The celebrity couple has been together for over 20 years after dating for seven years. They were married in 2001 in a closed ceremony. Since then, Pierce has been known to love his wife very much. With a determined attitude, he again showed the world the meaning of true love.

A troll shared an old photo of Pierce and his wife by the sea with a current version of them, pointing to the change in the couple’s bodies, saying, “This is us.” Even though the post was taken down, Pierce responded to the insults regarding his wife’s weight.

Pierce said that Keely was suggested to have weight-loss surgery, adding: “I absolutely love every curve of her body. In my eyes, she is the most beautiful woman.” He loves her for her qualities as a person, and that love has expanded into becoming a caring father of two. Pierce is proud of his wife and, in his words, “I always try to be worthy of her love.”

This isn’t the first time Pierce Brosnan has shown his affection for his wife. On his 20th birthday, he shared a love note stating, “My love for you always increases.” Keely replied, “Still the only one! Thank you for the gift of having your love and friendship. The world is more beautiful with you!” This shows us how the couple’s relationship is unique.

In another moment, the actor showed his affection by celebrating their wedding anniversary on his Instagram with a photo at his house, making us believe in “happily ever after”, keeping alive our hopes of finding a fairytale love.

The sacredness of his love for Keely comes from the abuse he suffered as a child, or the absence of a father figure. It made him value fatherhood and have stronger family roots while choosing to focus on his future rather than dwelling on his difficult past. If you’re one of those kids who struggled growing up, know that Pierce Brosnan met the same fate and proves that it doesn’t determine who you are, or who you’ll become as you grow up.

Even though he doesn’t seem to have aged, Pierce comments about his gray hair: “I just let it go”, and seeks to determine his own path to his version of happiness and freedom. For all his special talent and success as an actor, we all have a lot to learn from Pierce and Keely’s journey, starting with choosing to be there and, no matter what, love, live and laugh to the fullest.
