Online and free: Courses and faculties for free on the Internet

I always tell my friends and patients about courses and even colleges that are available on the Internet. And the best: they are free!!! I don’t know why this still hasn’t appeared in federal government advertisements.

All Federal Colleges in Brazil are offering online undergraduate courses for free. And more than that: students receive books for each subject and can study at home!! It works like this, the Faculty has the center, which is its place of origin (where it is physically located), and the poles, where students take the face-to-face tests. The poles can be very far from the center, sometimes even in other states. See the full list below.

As an example, I mention the Federal University of Ouro Preto, whose center is in Ouro Preto, but has poles in the State of São Paulo, in São José dos Campos.

The government’s objective, according to the preface of the books we received, is the “qualification of teachers who work in basic education schools and the qualification of the staff working in the management of the Brazilian State, in the various administrative spheres”. In other words, the Federal Government, using the internet, will offer courses in Administration and Public Administration to improve the services provided by the Government, at all levels: Federal, State, Municipal. And it will also offer, to improve education, Degree courses – courses that serve to teach in Elementary and High School: Literature (Portuguese and English), Pedagogy, History, Philosophy, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, etc.
