I’d like to start by writing that I’ve already forgotten you, that I’m enjoying my vacation in Canada and that I don’t remember your perfume anymore. But the reality is that I haven’t forgotten, I tried to write to you before, but no letter seemed good enough to portray my longing, so I crumpled some up and threw it away. Why am I confiding in you this? Maybe to disguise some of my anxiety, if the tears dried on that thin paper smearing the pen ink a little didn’t give me away.

Well, I haven’t seen you for so long, but in my memory I still have the best smiles, those unassuming smiles that always made me smile. In my heart I carry the weight of the farewell wrapped in the heat of the last hug, a tight hug with the smell of ripe strawberry, and that leaves us with the feeling of always coming home.

My hands are still shaking, so I’m sorry for the slurred lyrics. Here in the box of memory protected against unbridled time I remember the sound of his voice:

No matter what street your life is on, whether it will take months, a new year or maybe even a new century, here in my story you will always own the main chapter. As I was saying, I’m not trying to get back into your life, I just want to make it clear how much you will always mean in mine.
