Muscular Men Make Worse Boyfriends, Says Science

If the first thing you notice about a man is his muscles, a new study serves as a wake-up call: strong men may not be a good fit for dating. Researchers at the University of Westminster, UK, evaluated 327 British men and found that more muscular participants were more likely to have sexist beliefs and hostile attitudes towards women.

Sexist men usually strive to gain muscle mass – an attitude that aims to defend the imagery of what a “real man” would be: big, strong and full of muscles. The researchers also claim that working out in excess can be a way to reinforce the idea of ​​masculinity.

Calm! The study was not carried out with men from other parts of the world, in addition to evaluating a very small number of volunteers. In other words, it is not possible to generalize.
