Model with vitiligo is inspiration for others with the disease

“Beauty goes beyond the skin”. The phrase, said by model Iomikoe Johnson, says a lot about the way she deals with vitiligo, a disease that causes skin depigmentation and that would have already affected celebrities like Michael Jackson.

Iomikoe has already suffered a lot from discrimination against people because of her illness. But with the support of her boyfriend, family and children, this woman eventually developed self-confidence about her skin condition and has since made it her mission to impart courage and strength to others with the same problem.

At the awesome.club we love your story of self-acceptance and your movement to become a positive inspiration to others which is why we share it with you.

Iomikoe is now 38 years old, he developed vitiligo when he was 25 and at the time did not know what it was. When he first noticed the white patches on his arm, he thought it was cancer, but when it inexplicably spread to other areas of his body, he realized it was something else.

During this period, she was discriminated against for her appearance, being called a “cow” and “dalmatian” by some people, while on the street strangers stared at her, the children were afraid to approach and there were those who refused to shake his hand.

The change and acceptance came to light when she met her current boyfriend, who said he loved her with or without makeup🇧🇷 It was during this time that she decided to accept herself and make a conscious effort to stop hiding under makeup foundation and concealers.
