“In 2007 our eyes saw us for the first time”, the love story of Antonio Fagundes and Alexandra Martins

And so it was with the actors Antonio Fagundes and Alexandra Martins; they met in 2007 on the recording of an episode of the series Carga Pesada and have been together ever since, in a solid union.

Antonio and Alexandra met in 2007 when they were recording the series Carga Pesada. Alexandra only participated in one episode, in which she played the folklore figure of a headless mule, who tried to seduce Antonio Fagundes’ character, Pedro (left photo).

The two say that the approach came about because, behind the scenes, Alexandra was reading and he asked which book it was, as he loves to read — even the two share the same taste for Literature —, but he also asked if she had a boyfriend or was married. Having a negative answer to the question, Antonio said “then I have a chance”, how daring, huh? Alexandra thought it was funny. Very cute!

From that, the two got closer during the recording and started to go out together for plays, trips and dinners, however, it wasn’t quickly that the passion arose, it took about 6 or 7 months. But after the constant sharing of likes, the two started dating and have been together ever since.

Despite the age difference — at the time she was 29 and he was 57 — this did not prevent them from being together and sharing not only life, but also work, as they acted in several projects together, such as the telenovelas Tempos Modernos ( 2010) and Se Eu Fechar os Olhos Agora (2019) and the play Baixa Terapia. And believe it or not, Alexandra in this play is opposite Antonio’s ex-wife, Mara Carvalho, with whom she says she has a good relationship. Both believe that love serves to add and join forces. What a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

In addition to being together in several works, both are eternal boyfriends when it comes to being romantic and making declarations of love, given that the two constantly declare themselves to each other, being, for a large part of the public, an inspiration.

Whether on the day of the kiss when he writes that she “has the best kiss in the world” or even on an ordinary sunny day: “She is always my best company”, Antonio demonstrates his love and admiration for the partner who has been with him for longer. for a decade, always being “my eternal girlfriend, companion, friend, wife and love of my life”, he said.

Incredible as it may seem, there was no dating or marriage proposal, things between them happened very naturally, and they found themselves living together, without determining anything, nor planning. “There wasn’t a specific moment for each thing, it was organic and that organicity is cool, a natural thing. Nothing was thought and at the same time everything lived with intensity”, said Antonio. We believe this is how the best stories come about.

We believe that having common tastes is what makes love enduring and full of surrender, since it takes more than just getting attached — despite being sooo good — for a marriage to be viable for both parties. So whether it’s carnival, roller coaster or even physical exercises, finding a pair is a good choice!

And, looking at the social networks of the two actors, it is possible to see that they share several things in common, but the love for Literature (the one that brought them together) remains the greatest, because in addition to always being together reading, they got a tattoo together on homage to the Shakespearean work Hamlet. How beautiful, isn’t it?

Often, being in a relationship is not so simple, as sharing your universe with another person can be challenging, especially as in the case of Antonio and Alexandra, who have a considerable age difference. But we believe that being willing, with the intention of making yourself happy next to each other and being open to adaptations or even changes, is necessary for everything to flow and, thus, a solid and lasting relationship to be built.
