I tested a 100% natural treatment for alopecia –

Living with alopecia is not simple. Watching your own hair thinning and falling out more and more generates a much greater blow to self-esteem than you think, and the fear of never feeling beautiful again is frightening. The desire to hide, to disguise as much as possible, translates in many ways – for me, it was avoiding pictures whenever possible.

I have been living with androgenetic alopecia for years and today I am happy to say that, despite being under control, this is a subject that no longer occupies my mind as it used to and I have found many ways to feel beautiful and important beyond my hair. Even so, when I suggested this article to , the idea was to explore what is different in the market.

The initial goal was to try a range of different treatments, but my personal dermatologist was against the idea – it could overwhelm the scalp and interfere with the ongoing treatment I already have, which is customized to my needs. So from my research I chose one that was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I tell you more about the condition and my experience below.

Let’s go by parts: what is alopecia?

“Alopecia is the loss of hair in areas where it would normally grow. It is a problem that affects both men and women, and can be caused by genetic influences, local inflammatory processes or systemic diseases”, explains the trichologist. Dr. Luciana Passoni. “Hair falls out in large amounts in certain areas, providing a view of the scalp or skin that was previously covered by hair or body hair.”

In this, it is important to understand the difference between alopecia and common hair loss. In the first case, the fall is usually the result of some other health condition and, as a rule, has no cure. In the second case, the fall can be generated by a temporary situation (such as stress or postpartum) and is recoverable.

“Generally, alopecia areata causes hair loss in various parts of the scalp, in the shape and size of a large coin”, continues the doctor. “Hair does not grow back naturally in these cases. On the other hand, in common hair loss, the strands usually return to being thick and healthy in a short time.”

The main indicative sign of alopecia is the loss of more than 120/150 strands of hair per day – this can be noticed when finding strands on the pillow, when you wake up, when you wash or comb your hair, or when you run your hands through your hair. hair. “The hair fall can be noticed when it is possible to easily visualize the scalp in some areas of the head. Alopecia is treated with the use of various medications (topical and oral use) and by stimulating the hair follicle”, he says.

Alopecia occurs in different degrees (it can go up to the total loss of all hair and body hair) and for different causes. Some of the main ones are:

Use of medication (for the treatment of cancer, for example);
Stress;
Chemicals;
underlying diseases and conditions;
Postpartum hormonal reaction;
Bad eating habits;
Genetic inheritance;
Menopause;
Trichotillomania.

Other than that, there are factors that can contribute to its appearance and worsening, such as:

Family history of baldness;
Age;
Significant weight loss;
Other diseases, such as diabetes and lupus;
Stress;
Pregnancy;
Excess vitamin A;
Lack of protein and some minerals;
Hormonal disorders;
Vitamin B12 deficiency.

The way alopecia will be treated depends 100% on the correct evaluation and medical diagnosis – therefore, in case of hair loss beyond the normal range, the recommendation is always to seek a dermatologist or trichologist.

“Women with female pattern baldness can count on two treatment modalities: clinical and surgical. However, the first step is to look for a specialist to diagnose the most appropriate way to treat yourself. Each case must be evaluated individually so that the best treatment is chosen – medication or hair transplant. It is very important not to use medication without the advice of a specialist. Some remedies that are effective in men can be harmful to the female body; therefore, avoid self-medication and see a doctor, ”she explains.

Test: Multivitamin laser treatment

As I mentioned above, I already have dermatological follow-up and regular treatment for alopecia, so I chose a different procedure than what I was used to. I’ve been through microneedling and also through traditional Minoxidil treatment. This time, I opted for something punctual and completely natural: the multivitamin laser treatment. Laces And Hairin Chris Dios.

Laces works with a hair schedule system, which means that the first step was to take pictures from all angles of my head, in addition to measuring the length of the strand, to record the current moment of my hair.

Then comes the first part of the treatment with the application of multivitamins: a combination of nourishing the strands with a specific cream and applying a mixture of vitamins (such as B12) directly to the scalp. Here, what I noticed the most was the smell of the vitamins, which, for me, was quite strong and citric, and stayed with me all day. Then comes a scalp massage to help absorb the vitamin pump and activate circulation in the region.

Soon after, comes the hair scalp asepsis: it starts with an application of a blend of herbs based on camphor, which helps in the removal of dead cells and accumulation of residues in the hair. This is followed by brushing the leather with a specific brush, thicker, passed directly on the head.

The third step is to wash my hair with the Cris Dios products best suited to my needs, identified at the beginning of the procedure. Leaving the washing chair, I returned to the fourth and final stage of the process: the laser. It’s like a brush, with red lights that help absorb all applied products, in addition to stimulating hair growth.

After two and a half hours in the salon, I realized that I made a very good choice. Despite already treating and caring for alopecia for years, trying a treatment with a more natural bias was very interesting and thinking about following the hair schedule – mine has more than 7 sessions, with alternating treatments, including the alchemy table, to help with the question – it was very tempting.

As with any hair treatment, it takes time to see results. So far, the impression that was left was the softness of the hair, which I have two days after the procedure. The strong smell of the vitamins is gone (thank goodness!), which indicates that they were very well absorbed. I also noticed a very nice shine in my hair both after the procedure and in the following days, which was really nice. Anyway, now it remains to wait for the effect of everything that was applied to my scalp.
