Originally, Liv Tyler was born with the name Liv Rundgren. The current actress is the daughter of Bebe Buell, a model and singer whose career peaked in the 1970s. At the time, Bebe was in an on-and-off relationship with Todd Rundgren, a member of the band Utopia.

The relationship, however, was far from stable. In this context, Bebe met Steven Tyler, the iconic frontman of Aerosmith, in 1976. With him, the model had a short romance.
