I didn’t know what to wear and I was happy (emotional growth)

I woke up every morning hoping that something would fall from the sky. Smiles, eternal loves, spectacular trips, dreams fulfilled, personal satisfaction… However, day after day my desperation grew as I saw that nothing changed.

Then I realized that, in my own way and without realizing it, I was dirtying every opportunity, clouding it with waiting and forgetting the action.

So, one day, I decided to start accepting my emotions and my hopes. Without pain or confrontations or emotional prisons. I simply began to cultivate my patience and my ability to reflect.

I woke up one day and, since I didn’t know what to wear, I was happy.

It’s my lucky dress, my gala dress.

We cannot ask for pears from the elm

Any day is good to do it. But…, it is true that Everything has its time in life. We cannot ask for pears from the elm, we must be prepared.

It happens that when you have suffered enough you wonder what you are doing wrong. Then you realize that the topic is quite simple. You cannot be happy if you are constantly fighting with yourself. Because it is precisely that internal combat that destroys you.

I got tired of hearing that “it’s stupid”, “it’s not worth it”, “go ahead, stop crying”, “it’s time for you to learn that life is hard”, “you have no reason to be like this”…

But… what is happening? Don’t people realize that it’s perfectly normal to be sad when something isn’t going well for us? Do you have to go with a smile on your face even if you are destroyed inside?

Well, sorry, but not everything in life is black or white.

I accept grays, pinks, yellows and any other color.

It is time for us to understand that all emotions have a function in our lives. And, that function is not to fog up our windows and make it impossible for us to see the dawn. No and no. Absolutely not. Their goal is to help us grow and understand this place called the world.

Feeling good has become an obligation for all of us. A sad and exhausting obligation. Because if we are bad and we feel forced to feel better and we don’t succeed, we will end up feeling worse.

It is a vicious circle that will make us feel awkward, guilty and miserable. This plunges us into a pit of greater negativity because we don’t know how to achieve what we set out to do. What’s more, problems become even bigger in our minds when we reinforce the obligation to feel good and “stop worrying.” It’s a spiral of guilt.

It is truly crazy to impose feelings and emotions on us. They are there for a reason, we either take them or leave them. If we choose the option of taking them into account, they will teach us wonderful things to be happy in our daily lives.

However, if we fall into wanting to push them away from us, then we will end up in a tunnel with no exit.

Being happy is not being happy all day

Obviously, joy is a basic ingredient to obtain a good dessert of happiness, but it is neither the only touch nor the essential one. I could tell you thousands and thousands of theories and experiences that talk about happiness. But we would still not know what that mixture of ingredients should taste like.

What is it? A goal? One Way? A degree of wisdom? Peace? No one really knows what it is but Those who really feel it talk about accepting and flowing. It is these concepts that lead us to realize that we are going down the wrong path.

We look for happiness to fall from the sky while we fight with our reality. People, in this sense, are not very intelligent. Things really go better when we let them happen, let them enrich us and give us what they have come to bring to our lives.

So, perhaps, what we have to do is abandon the combat that destroys us, accept pain as an inevitable part of life and understand that peace only comes when there are no open fronts with ourselves.
