How to do the photo swipe trend on TikTok

TikTok has finally allowed its users to post more than just short videos! Many users will have noticed that their “For You” pages now contain slideshow-like posts with multiple still images. But not every user can upload them. Read on to find out how to embrace the TikTok photo swipe trend.

If you’ve been on TikTok long enough, you’ll remember when users were only allowed to upload videos that were 15 seconds long. Now, in 2022, however, things are not quite that simple.

A quick stroll around your For You page reveals that in addition to 15-second clips, users can now post videos up to one, three, or ten minutes long! In fact, aside from the longer videos, TikTok is the latest in a long list of apps to introduce a “Stories” feature.

The latest change that is catching users’ attention in TikTok app is the new Photo Swipe videos that have been slowly rolled out by the platform.

But are the Photo Swipe posts available to everyone and how are you making the trend?

As if TikTok wasn’t addicting enough, the geniuses at TikTok HQ found another way to keep us all hooked.

You may have seen a few and wondered about the new photo thing and how to do it.

To put it simply, some users can now upload several photos instead of a video, which are presented as a mini slide show.

The videos are still engaging with the ability to add the usual music, filters, and texts, and unsurprisingly many users have used them for meme purposes.

Can anyone access the trend?

Well, that’s the problem with the photo swipe trend.

As with many of TikTok’s updates, they are uploaded on a rollout basis, meaning not every user accesses them at the same time. Therefore, not every TikTok user has access to the feature.

Although this is unconfirmed, some users have even reported that they had the option to upload using the Photo Swipe feature, but it was subsequently arbitrarily removed from their account.

If you want the best chance of gaining access to the TikTok Photo Swipe feature, make sure you have the latest update installed.

How to do the TikTok photo swipe trend

Once you have the Photo Swipe trend on your account, you’ll find that it’s actually pretty easy to use.

First press the upload button on your homepage.

There, at the bottom under the record button, you will see three features: “Camera”, “Story” and “Templates”.

Just scroll down to templates where you will be prompted to “upload photos”.

From there you can upload any six photos from your camera roll, and that’s you!

Of course, as with any TikTok post, you can then add videos, text, and filters to your heart’s content!
