How the protagonists of “Modern Family” have changed, the comedy that ended after 10 years

After 11 seasons and 250 episodes, Modern Family (Family Modern) came to an end. The comic series that debuted in 2009, was on the air for just over 10 years, and over that time we follow the growth of each character and, consequently, each actor.

How difficult it is to notice the changes as they happen, but the awesome.club compared the images of each protagonist’s first seasons with current photographs. Check out!

The patriarch of the family, the oldest of all the protagonists. Jay is played by actor Ed O’Neill, who although he doesn’t look like it, is now 74 years old.

Born in Colombia, she played the wife of Jay and the mother of Manny and Joe. One of her most characteristic traits is her accentuated Latin accent, so much so that at times it is difficult for her to pronounce English. Performed by Sofía Vergara, who is now 47 years old.

Son of Gloria’s first marriage. He is passionate, romantic, outgoing and mature. During the series, we’ve seen him doing adult stuff despite his young age. Rico Rodríguez is the one who plays him, an actor who is now 21 years old.

Son of Jay and Gloria, who is born in Season 4. In its baby phase, it was played by the twins Rebecca and Sierra Mark, in seasons 5 and 6 by Pierce Wallace, and from the 7th to the end it was played by Jeremy Maguire, an actor who is now 8 years old and that we see in the photos above.

She is the eldest daughter of Jay, wife of Phil and mother of Haley, Alex and Luke. When she has a family reunion or event, she is the most excited about the preparations. In addition, her hobby is reading and running.. Claire is played by Julie Bowen, who is now 50 years old.

He is a father who considers himself cool and, in this sense, uses an educational method that consists of talking like a friend, but acting like a parent. According to his wife Claire, he looks like a child. Phil is played by Tyler Burrel, a 52-year-old actor.

Claire and Phil’s eldest daughter. She cares a lot about her status social network and we often see her on her cell phone talking to her friends or texting. Haley is played by Sarah Hyland, an American actress who is now 29 years old.

The smartest in the family. The middle child of Claire and Phil, she loves to make fun of her brothers for not being as capable as she is. She plays the cello, practices lacrosse and despite her intellect, it is difficult for her to have a social life. Alex is played by Ariel Winter, an actress who turned 22 in January 2020.

Youngest son of Claire and Phil. He starts the series as a naive boy and ends it as a young adult, and as the seasons go by, we see that he is not as naive as some members of his family believe. Luke is played by Nolan Gould, an American actor who is now 21 years old.

Jay’s son and Claire’s younger brother. He is a lawyer and married to Cameron, with whom he adopts their daughter Lily. He is very different from his partner, with whom he often has very funny arguments. Mitchell is played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who is currently 44 years old.

Mitchell’s partner and Lily’s father. Better known as Cam, he is passionate, sociable and dramatic, attitudes very different from Mitchell, who is more “traditional”. The character is played by Eric Stonestreet, who is now 48 years old.

Adopted daughter of Cam and Mitchell. She spends much of her time at her house with Cam while Mitchell works. Her father often dresses her, taking inspiration from famous personalities such as Diana Ross, Carmen Miranda, Madonna or Steve Wonder, to photograph her. Starting in Season 3, Lily was played by Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who is now 13 years old.
