Who was not surprised by the transformation of the heir to the throne of Genovia? The Princess Diaries marked Anne Hathaway’s debut as a protagonist. The actress auditioned for the film during a stopover on a flight to New Zealand. However, director Garry Marshall only chose her because his granddaughters said Anne had the best “princess” hair.

After the success, the actress acted in several productions, such as The Devil Wears Prada and in Les Miserables. Anne has been married to actor Adam Shulman since 2012, with whom she had two children, Jonathan and Jack.

Robert Schwartzman’s character was cute, smart, a little shy and in love with Mia Thermopolis even before the princess transformation. Married to photographer Zoey Grossman, Robert comes from a family of artists including: Nicolas Cage, Sofia Coppola, Francis Ford Coppola, among others.

4. Mandy Moore as Lana Thomas
