Here’s how to consecrate a talisman [Wicca-Methode eingeschlossen]

When we speak of consecrating anything, be it altars, ritual instruments, divining instruments, fetishes, talismans, amulets, statues, candles, water, even herbal preparations, to consecrate is simply to make holy. To me it means to cleanse and bless something and to load it with a purpose. If you are wondering how to consecrate a talisman, here are the answers.

A skull is just a skull, but when consecrated it becomes a house of the spirit. A statue of Odin is only a statue until it is consecrated as a vessel for divinity. A candle is only a candle until it is greased with oil and loaded with its purpose for a spell. A stick is just a stick, but once cut, fumigated, sprayed with oil, sprinkled with holy water, chosen its purpose as an art staff, and charged and blessed with the desired powers, it becomes a potent tool of magic.

To facilitate the consecration process, the more an object is actively used for its purpose, the more power it can exert. There are many ways to consecrate something. Here are some that I think are the best.

How to consecrate a talisman?

This can be simple or complex depending on your preference. It can take five minutes or an hour. You can do it at midnight under the full moon, on your altar by candlelight, incense burning, chanting, with long loose hair falling on your bare breasts, or in the morning on the kitchen table with some water, salt and olive oil, and then again with Watch TV with your cup of coffee

Stage 1: cleaning

Physically clean (if possible), clean the object to be consecrated with soap, water and herbs for cleaning (lemon, evergreens, rue, hyssop, mugwort ) then spiritu ally by fumigation, incense stick or stain.

If the item cannot be washed, sprinkle with blessed water, and then fumigate. Move the object between your hands so the smoke touches every corner.

When cleaning the object, make sure to get rid of dirt and negativity, or say out loud “I will clean you”, or you can sing a song of cleaning.

Stage 2: Anointing

Oil! oil on everything! It is not necessary to have a particularly elaborate oil, olive oil or sunflower oil are fine. If you want, you can dilute some essential oils with some olive oil, almond, sunflower, jojoba, etc.

Then dip your index finger into the oil and from the center of the object slide your finger up once. Go back to the center and slide your finger down once. There, anointed!

This method works well for candles, jewelry, skulls, bottles, boxes, chopsticks, sticks, statues, goblets, candlesticks, etc.

Stage 3: rebirth

Take a black cloth or piece of leather and wrap the object. This will act as the tomb and womb. Your ritual object will have a magical initiation (idea by Nigel Pennick). His old self will die so that his new life as a ritual tool can be born.

Open the cloth and greet the object like a newborn. Scatter the earth on it, spray with blessed water, walk over a candle flame and blow incense with a cloud and it is blessed with the elements of earth, water, fire and air.

Stage 4: Upload

Now it’s time to load the object for its target. To illustrate this, collect the items and proceed. A ring of protection and a tarot deck do not have the same purpose, so they must be loaded differently.

Simplify the consecration

If you feel the need to do something lavish for a candle, a bottle of Sabbath wine, or a bag of herbs, then no problem. Sprinkle with blessed water, grease with oil or simply blow over. Then whisper a prayer of intention so that the breath of your prayer touches the object or objects in question. That’s it!

Council after the ordination

Once your sacred objects have been consecrated and used for their intended purpose, they will occasionally need to be cleaned. Do a magic wash (for items that can get wet like jewelry, skulls, swords, knives, sticks, statue items, and some divination tools). Dust and dirt accumulate over time.

Ritual instruments made of unpainted wood require special care. Clean them carefully with a damp cloth, with a little linseed oil, Danish oil. You can also gently rub them with a little beeswax or wood conditioner. If you have leather goods use a wax or balm for saddles and this will soften the leather (obviously this treatment is not good for faux leather).

Allow the oil or wood or leather conditioner to dry overnight before applying your leather ritual instrument back to the altar.

For furs, rugs, mats, etc., sprinkle some baking soda on top, leave for 15 minutes, then shake. By doing this, you have not only cleaned them, but also eliminated odors. If you prefer, you can add essential oils to the baking soda before use for a nice scent.

With tarot or wood runes, a good fumigation works well as there are those who prefer to place crystals on tarot cards and let them sit for a week or a month. Still others prefer to bury them.

Once or twice a year, replace the pouches, amulets, and temporary charms.

“I consecrate this 4-el amulet. It is now a magical tool that will serve the wielder honestly.

Light the incense, pass the amulet or talisman 3 times over the smoke, face east and say:

“O ancient gods of air, and all you creatures of the elements and all you spirits of the East, I ask you to charge this amulet (or talisman) with the mystical energy of air and with your divine light”.

Now light the candle and let the amulet or talisman make 3 turns around the flame, turn to the south and say:

“O ancient Fire Gods, and ye all creatures of the elements, and ye all spirits of the South, I ask you to charge this amulet (or talisman) with the energy of the sacred flame and with your divine light”.

Place the amulet or talisman on your altar, pour 3 drops of water on it, face west and say:

“O ancient gods of water, and ye all creatures of the elements, and ye all spirits of the west, I bid you charge this amulet (or talisman) with the vital energy of the Source of Life and with your divine light”.

Now the amulet (or talisman) turn north in the salt and say:

“O old gods of the earth, and all you creatures of the elements and all you spirits of the north, I ask you to charge this amulet (or talisman) with living energy and with your divine light.”

Hold your amulet with both hands, raise it above your head and say 3 times:
    “So be it”.

Remember to choose an amulet or talisman that you believe is yours and that is basically everything.

A necklace, a doll, a small bag, a tarot card, it can be any type of object as long as you respect it and charge it with magic.
