1. What is the personalized star map?

It is an image that shows the position of the stars and constellations on a given date, time and location on Earth. Each custom map is generated after processing a database that contains thousands of stars and some other related data points while maintaining scientific accuracy.

2. How do I know if my map data is accurate?

We are always studying to provide you with the most realistic night sky possible. Our main star catalog is the European Space Agency – Hipparcos Mission, a high-precision catalog of stars generated from more than four years of observations made by the Hipparcos space telescope. Based on this catalogue, we created some reading mechanisms that allow us to build the map using stars up to magnitude six – the position in which they are visible in the dark sky – for any date or location in the past or future!

You can compare the map you create here with any open source planetarium software before ordering. We recommend Heavens Above or Stellarium.org.

3. When I look at the map, where do I know the location I indicated?

The map shows the night sky dome as you see it above you. The edge of the map represents the horizon and the center of the globe is where you are! Therefore, the stars to its north are those in the upper half, to its south are those in the lower half and so on with east and west.

The image of the globe represents half of the celestial sphere and it is as if you were looking at half of the Universe, at 180 degrees.

4. Why doesn’t the moon appear on my map?

From Earth’s point of view, the Moon performs a slow celestial dance that changes shape throughout its phases. Several factors, however, affect its visibility, such as the moon’s phases and position in the sky.

From the perspective of the position of the sky, as the Moon travels through its phases, it also moves across the sky. If the Moon is not visible at night, it may have been visible during the day. Therefore, it is not always visible at the same time every day or in the same location in the sky.

The degree to which the Moon is visible during the day is closely linked to its phase. During a Full Moon, the Moon is in front of the Earth in relation to the Sun in the sky. Therefore, the Moon will be in the sky approximately as long as the Sun is not. During other phases, the Moon may be more visible during the day because it is closer to the Sun in the sky.

So remember, your map does not necessarily have the Moon visible as this will depend on the phase it is in and the time it was visible too 😉

5. Why do some constellation names not appear in full? And what are the constellations with visible names?

If a constellation name does not appear in full on your map, it means that that constellation is practically outside the 180 degree angle of the map. In other words, it was practically not visible on the horizon on the day and location you selected.

Of the 88 constellations in the sky, we present the names of 28 of them, considered the main ones in the catalog. Are they: Andromeda, Aquarius, Aries, Cancer, Canis Major, Canis Minor, Capricorn, Cassiopeia, Centaur, Southern Crown, Borealis, Southern Cross, Dragon, Gemini, Hydra, Leo, Libra, Orion, Phoenix, Pisces, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Taurus, Triangle, Southern Triangle, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Virgo.

6. I don’t know the time. How do I do?

If you don’t know the exact time of the moment you’re going to record, there’s no problem. Your map will be generated based on our standard time, 22:00 Brasília, GMT -3.

The time is just another customization field that will make your star map even more accurate.

7. Can I remove the title? I don’t want to use Map of My Heaven.

Yes! If you don’t want any title, it can be removed. You can also change the title with a phrase to your liking, respecting the 50 character limit. If you do not change or remove it, your poster will have the title .

8. What are the product options and what material is used?

We offer 2 types of star map:

digital: we generate the map in high quality PDF (300 dpi) in A3 size proportions and you will receive it by email with printing recommendations. frame: map printed on Glossy Matte 240 paper and framed ready to be hung on the wall. This model is offered in 3 sizes.

You can choose which type you prefer during the process of customizing your map.

Our prints are made on professional high-resolution machines using Glossy Matte 240 paper.

The frame consists of 1 wooden frame with plaster finish, 1 acrylic screen, 1 Eucatex and hooks (in vertical and horizontal position). They are 2cm wide and available in black and white for A4, A3 and A2 formats.

The finishing process is done with care and care so that you receive your painting perfectly.

9. What are the measurements of tables A4, A3 and A2?

Let’s go:

10. If they sell the complete painting, why buy the PDF version?

High-resolution PDF file maps are perfect if:

you need a last minute gift you would like to print your map on canvas, wood or maybe even a t-shirt… you want to check the quality before ordering more star maps =)

If you choose the PDF file, once your order is completed, we will send you an email with the link to download the file. All files are in 300 dpi, providing perfect print quality.

We recommend printing your poster on matte or matte effect paper weighing over 200gsm. You can find this type of paper in all professional printers.

If you made the payment via credit card, the PDF will be sent on the same day. If you have opted for a bank slip, you will need to wait for the bill to clear, which usually takes around 24 hours. Please also check your spam folder.

11. What is the delivery time for the paintings?

Our production time is up to 5 working days. Your order will begin to be produced on the next business day, after confirmation of payment for your purchase. After production is complete, the order will be collected by the carrier and sent to your region. This is when the delivery estimate comes into effect!

Delivery times may vary according to zip code and region. When making your purchase, you will be able to calculate the estimated delivery time according to your address.

As soon as your order is forwarded to the carrier, you will receive a message to the email registered in your order with the tracking code to track delivery in real time. Remember to always check your spam folder 😉

Important: Shipments to some small cities in BR where access via courier is limited, the Post Office is still used, but these cases are rare. In the event of a postal/truck driver strike or a city with difficult access, the delivery time may be affected, but you can count on our support for any questions.

12. Do you deliver with a frame?

Yes! The printed maps are delivered with the frame and you just choose which color you want: white or black.

13. What is the shipping cost?

Shipping costs may vary depending on zip code and region. When making your purchase, you will be able to calculate the shipping cost according to the address chosen.

14. Do you ship outside Brazil?

Not printed maps! However, the digital map does, as it is sent by email and this way we can serve you anywhere in the world.

15. What are the payment methods?

We use Mercado Pago and Paypal as payment intermediaries.

Through Mercado Pago, your purchases can be paid via credit card and bank slip. With Paypal, you can pay by credit card or with your Paypal account.

If you choose the credit card payment method, you can pay in up to 3 interest-free installments. If you want more than 3 installments, the additional interest will be paid by you and will be shown at the time of payment.

If you choose the payment method by bank slip, the payment clearing period may take up to 3 business days and The order will only be processed when payment is approved.

16. Is it possible to pay by bank slip?

Yes, using Mercado Pago payment method. On the checkout page you will see the bank slip option and simply enter the requested data to generate the slip.

It is important to note that the deadline for clearing payments via bank slip is up to 48 business hours.

17. I need to change the delivery address. How do I do?

If you have entered the wrong address, write to us within the first 12 hours after the purchase was made so that we can change it. If this deadline passes, unfortunately we cannot change.

18. I want to send the map as a gift. Can you take the receipt from the packaging?

Unfortunately, we are unable to collect the invoice as this is a tax requirement for commercial postings both via courier and the Post Office. Every order will be delivered with the invoice.

In any case, the invoice is also sent to the email registered in the order, whether in printed or PDF format.

19. How can I place more than one order?

After creating your first map, you will go to the checkout page. There you will have a button (Continue Shopping) that will take you back to the creation page to add another map. You can order as many as you want in a single order.

Attention: As it is a tool that updates in real time, we recommend that before creating a new file, you refresh the page to ensure that the imputed data is from the new map.

20. How can I add symbols to decorate my text?

We do not accept emojis in the text field, but if you want to add an even more special touch to your map, copy and paste one of the symbols below into your text:

21. How do I add the SPOTIFY QRCode?

Make your purchase normally and once you have the order number in hand, send an email with the title SPOTIFY + ORDER NUMBER. In the email you must attach code image that will be used so that we can apply it to art and the name of the song. It is important to send the code in the color you created your map.

22. How do I know if the order has been shipped?

In the case of paintings, after your order has been printed, framed and posted, you will receive an email from Mandaê with confirmation that your order has been posted and with the tracking code.
