For daydreaming they called me crazy

Daydreaming is imagining a world that we do not see or touch, but that we can create as we want. We are not crazy for dreaming, “madness” is never doing it and remain immobile for fear of not being able to achieve it.

On many occasions, others tell us not to dream, to go down to the real world and look at life as it presents itself to us. Dreams are sketches of what we would like and can help us take a step along the path.

Dreaming is free

Our mind is capable of imagining fantastic worlds, possible and impossible situations, millions of colors and infinite possibilities. Dreaming is building a bridge between what does not exist and what could exist.

This incredible capacity of the human being is often seen by those around us as a sign that we are getting lost in a world from which we will no longer be able to return. By not dreaming, we miss out on great opportunities to create realities.

It is true that there is a point of reason in all this if what we dream of we always consider achievable. The key could be to maintain that middle point in which we pass our dreams through the filter of what we consider possible and what not. Dreaming is unlimited, but reality is not.

When we daydream, it is best to know that we are doing it. Take those wonderful ideas and ask ourselves if we can carry them out, or if, on the contrary, they are dreams. We must fight for achievable dreams and turn those that are not into art.

Dreaming creates realities

Without dreamers, we would have missed out on great works and creations. Maybe all the great ideas came from dreaming and wondering if that was possible. Dreaming can transform the world. Without the ability to dream we would not have been able to advance in social struggle, science, the arts and human relationships. Without dreams, we would always settle for what we see and accept that it is the only possible option.

Dreams are dreams, or so they say, but the truth is that the abstraction of the real world allows us to observe reality from a different perspective or, better yet, create a different one. Dream of a better tomorrow and it just might be.

Dreams are dreams

On the other hand, becoming obsessed with fulfilling them at all costs can make us unhappy people. Thinking that what we don’t have is always an essential requirement to be happy is a mistake. There are dreams that are achievable and others that are fantasies.

Nor can we make the mistake of believing that “chasing dreams” is the only path to happiness. There are times when a simple life, company and calm are enough to live a full life. Wanting to make dreams come true is just a personal option, not an obligation.

They say that sometimes happiness is in the little things, and they may be right. Other people, however, are not satisfied with them. Dreams are as unique as ourselves.

And if you have decided to embark on the path to achieving an achievable dream, you have to know that it will not be fulfilled without effort nor does it depend on others. A dream doesn’t magically come true: it takes sweat, determination and hard work.
